Hey everyone
Sorry if this is in the wrong place btdubz
I wanted 2 know more about Shinnoks Amulet. Im a big fan of Marvel films so I read alot about the Gemstones/Infinity stones so I was really interested in the Amulet in MK.
Rather than read about it on other sites i wondered if any of you would talk about it?
Did he create it? If he did then why?
How come it can trap people forever?
Who controls it?
I read it was duplicated.. how?
Any random thoughts would be nice, it seems like an interestin topic... to me anyway
Thank u in advance

The stuff about Shinnok's Amulet is confusing, namely because its attributes were added with the different installments.
My understanding of the amulet was that it was to hold Shinnok's power and allows him to travel through realms undetected by the Elder Gods. After Raiden defeated Shinnok, he extracted the amulet and had it guarded in Earthrealm by its other gods. After Bi-Han, the older Sub-Zero from MK1, defeated the 4 elemental gods of Earthrealm, he came close to Shinnok's Amulet, only for Quan Chi to appear and take it with him to the Netherrealm. It had to have been sometime after Quan Chi took it in which he created a duplicate to trick both Shiinnok and Raiden. So when Bi-Han defeated Shinnok and took the amulet from him back to Raiden, it was actually a duplicate while Quan Chi secretly retained the original.
In MK: Deadly Alliance, Quan Chi learned that he could use the amulet to escape the Netherrealm. During that time, his powers had been greatly weakened due to being in the 5th plane of the Netherrealm, which drains magic power from people. During his escape from Scorpion, he entered a portal and discovered the lost tomb of Onaga's (The Dragon King) mummified army. The amulet could be used to control the army, that is if souls were transplanted into the bodies. That's how he came to the idea of finding Shang Tsung and offering an alliance with him since Shang Tsung could do soul transplantation.
In MK: Deception, the amulet is identified as a key tool that connects the 6 Kamidogu together. It was Onaga's plan to have the Kamidogu and Shinnok's amulet fused together in order to become the One Being thus having ultimate power. In Quan Chi's MK: Armageddon ending, Argus, the father of Rain, Taven, and Daegon, referred to Shinnok's Amulet as a Kamidogu. The ability to trap people inside the amulet is something introduced in MKX, as far as I know.
I hope this information helps give some clarity. Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions.

The powers of Shinnok's amulet are as confusing as Queen Elsa's.
I mean, there's no logical reason for cryomancy being interpreted as dressmaking, building a palace and creating life(?!) (Olaf & ice beast)
It seems Shin's amulet can do just about anything. It could probably be used to cheat the stock markets and make breakfast waffles 'just because'.

Wasn't it also said to be The Key to Earthrealm at one point?
It was duplicated again in X, so was that a duplicate of the duplicate or original?
How the hell was it duplicated, powers n all?

@sub_zero_7th the amulet didnt turn onaga into the one being. It just made him invincible. The one being is a creature made up of the realms. When all realms get fused into one it becomes the one beings physical body. Which is why the one manipulated Onaga shao khan and somewhat Shinnock

To Tetra_Vega: I’m not sure if Shinnok’s Amulet was the key to Earthrealm. I don’t remember such a detail, but you could be right. You raise a good question about whether or not the amulet was duplicated in this continuity. In MK9, Raiden made reference to the events of MK: Mythologies after Bi-Han’s death. Quan Chi wore the amulet in MK9 yet Shinnok has it in MKX.
To shirairyuwarrior: I didn’t say that the amulet turned Onaga into the One Being. I said that Onaga’s plan was to fuse the 6 Kamidogu with Shinnok’s Amulet in order to gain ultimate power. He had Tanya go to Edenia to look for ancient spells that would allow him to fuse the artifacts together.

Quan Chi's semi-canon ending in MK Armageddon says that he practically is the Amulet and Shinnok did not create it, but rather found it thousands of years into the past, where Quan Chi had been sent.
The ending is non-canon, so it doesn't mean that Quan Chi is definitely the Amulet, but I take for granted the part that it was not created, but found.

Technically, it was the One Being's plan. Its consciousness was working through Onaga, similarly to how Onaga manipulated Shujinko into collecting the kamidogu in the first place.
Once fused together, the One Being would become whole again (probably but not confirmed in Onaga's body), undoing reality. Then the OB was going to seek revenge on the Elder gods for separating its consciousness into the realms.

Shinnok's amulet is sort of like the mcguffin of MK's lore. It is a very mysterious, very powerful object that the good guys and bad guys can all fight over.
Generally I think it safe to say the amulet holds the power of an Elder God-- given that shinnok transferred his power to it back when he was still an elder. And thus, entitles whoever bears said amulet to a plethora of powers and abilities, foremost of which is probably traveling between realms.

I know the Elder Gods can heal wounds and can unanimously agree to grant life, by combining their magic; which makes me assume that the amulet by itself, can potentially give life or save the revenants, if it was studied in detail by the scientific divisions of the SF, the Red or Black Dragon: much like the Predator's non-canon ending where it unlocks sorcery.

Oh, the Key to Earthrealm stuff... It was also the control key, in order to use all the Kamidogu. I had forgotten about Deception. It contols the Kamidogu, and they are, like their name means, Tools of the Gods. I don't recall the full details, but they had immense power, and if fused or used to fuse the Realms, would awaken the One Being, who was split up and became the Realms by the Elder Gods to stop him feeding off them in their native Void.
