Does anyone know if MKXL will share save files with the original game? I'd hate to have to redo everything.
I believe MKXL is this big patch that will introduce the new things in the game, so you'll keep your save file.

That's actually a good question, but one I don't really have an answer to.

Do you still have your copy of MKX? If you do, why would you purchase MKXL? You can just download the XL expansion to the game digitally, and it'll work as Kombat Pack 1 did. If you sold MKX and are getting MKXL...then yes, good question there. Not entirely sure, I don't see why the save wouldn't work unless it's coded entirely differently, which would warrant a separate save file for it. Maybe someone here can tweet Boon about it?

Yes, I still have the physical disc copy of MKX, so I'm hoping when I put the MKXL disc in my ps4 it just sticks to the same save file. As to why I ordered it, it's probably because the MKXL game will have alot of the online only skins available that I didn't get with MKX. Total OCD.

You don't need to buy the physical copy to get all that. It's all included in the XL digital upgrade.

I'm pretty sure with MK9 and MK9 Komplete edition it was a different save file

So id guess this is the same

If you just want the content, buy the XL upgrade digitally, not the full 60 dollar release. Also, I'm fairly certain those online skins will still require an unlock. The base game will be exactly the same as before with the only difference being the inclusion of the DLC.. They said everything is included, not everything is unlocked. Big difference. So if that is why youre buying the full release, youre wasting your money.

Boon said the pit would be free once we all make the move to XL with the compatibility patch. The last Kast had the XL logo during loadings. I'm 100% sure the XL game is the same as X with all the patches and DLC pre installed.

Or they are playing a beta of MK:XL retail release?

I remember when I got the Komplete edition of MK9, my save file from the base version worked perfectly fine with it. So, I don't see why they would change it now. I mean, the disk copy is still the same program as the base with dlc.

People always get confused by these upgraded editions. The best way to think of it is to ask yourself " are they different games?". MKXL is basically MKX with everything unlocked. It is the same game. It will work fine and I would be extremely surprised if you have to unlock everything again.
