I found this summary for issue #2 of the Mortal Kombat X comic on ComiXology

"As Takeda continues to train and study the ways of the Shirai Ryu, Raiden pays Scorpion a visit... and a dangerous new threat emerges"

I was wondering if anyone on here knows who this character Takeda is?

Apparently a former Lin Kuei ninja that formed the Shirai Ryu? http://mortalkombat.wikia.com/wiki/Takeda Although he apparently died long ago, and I don't see why someone who founded the clan would be studying it's ways. So his role will likely be different in the comics. Very nice find.

Takeda was guard in Mortal Kombat Conquest and was possesed by the demon to become Scorpion.

Also i dont think that the comic books are limited to the time period after MK2011, it could well be before it.

I'm guessing Scorpion's attempting to rebuild his clan and Takeda will be his protégé, probably the darker skinned fellow we saw not too long ago. I wonder if he will be a playable character in the game...

Good point, they do share that. Maybe they could retcon Tremor's past a little bit, have his real name be Takeda, leave the Lin Kuei but instead of going to the Black Dragon he ends up connecting with Scorpion and adopts the name Tremor as a code name or something lol

Be the best way to do an origins. Look at Skarlet in MK9. Imho this would be useful way of getting him into the canon. And if scorpion does plan to hunt down quan chi. Tremor could be a good ally in his fight against him since kano pretty much used Tremor for similar reasons in mksf to stop jax and sonya from going into the portal. Hmmm. This could be perfect setup for Tremor imho.

Takeda translates to "bamboo rice paddy" and is usually a girls name. Interesting. Could also mean "warrior rice paddy". I haven't been keeping up with much of the comic news, but is it possible that Takeda and Forest Fox are one in the same?

Agreed, I think that would be work pretty well. I definitely would not mind seeing something like that happen.

I see, sounds pretty interesting. Not a fan of the name but him being possessed and disfiguring himself sounds kind of cool lol

Hopefully him and/or this Takeda guy will make an in-game appearance.

I'm so excited for this comic, it's ridiculous. It'll be nice to have something with a backbone for MKX's story as well as something to thicken the plot. Just like the olden days. Didn't Deception have a comic? At least, a very short one? Or was that just some form of an art book?

Isn't Scorpion hunting Raiden down in comic #1? Apparently neither of them kill each other. Maybe Scorpion learns the truth before the game story comes into play. Raiden paying a visit to Scorpion could mean he intends to fight him or he intends to recruit him

Unless something else happens after 9 that would give Raiden a reason to want to fight him im assuming its for recruiting reasons, or possibly to tell Scorpion the truth about Quan Chi and his dickish ways.
