Well Ed did all the shit talking about MK possibly being on the Wii around the time armageddon came out for it, but i guess armageddon didn't do good on it.

Eventhough I cannot find the article, I can confirm that that is what Ed Boon said. I'm just restating what he said in a couple of interviews, and he also said he would love to make MK for the wii, including classic downloads.

maybe it'll just come out on the wii after it comes out on xbox and ps3 with some other neat things in compensation (like MKD had Shao Kahn and Goro and MKA has Khameleon), it will come out eventually

so by "scaled back" and not utilizing the unreal engine, he basically means to say that the A team will be working on mk 8 for the 360 and ps3 and the B team(probubly the same team that worked on armageddon for the wii) would work on the wii version. i'm almost willing to bet that it'll be the armageddon engine...just tweaked.
