I am putting it out there and saying that Noob Saibot is behind triborg.

My reasons are;

After watching the new trailer it is shown that triborg can seperate himself into three different robots however these three forms are more then just holograms as we see from his fatality (which is reminiscant of noobs fatality from the last game). The way the three robots form back into one as shown in the intro leads me to believe that they are not three completely seperate entities but more like one entity that can split into multiple entities at times much like noob and his shadow from the last game.

The fatality. Come on that fatality is so similar to noobs from the last game the similarity is to striking to ignore.

The smoke variation is very dark almost black as opposed to the lighter grey colour we are used to seeing with smoke indicating a possible noob influence.

It's possible that noob secretly captured a Lin kuie cyborg who he worked on and programmed Sektor, Cyrax and smokes fighting abilities into and put some of his own mojo into (hence being able to split into three entities at a time) and then sent it to attack his brother in an effort to try and take over the Lin kuie for himself.

I am probably wrong and he is probably just a Sektor back up plan but this would be a cool twist and good way to include my main man noob in a game that he never should've been omitted from in the first place.

I'm sure Noob has something to do with the Triborg. He wanted to create cyber demons in one of his endings ;)

Wouldn't be the first time he's controlled a cyborg, like in MK:D

Well first we would need to find out how or when he came back. Last we saw he was thrown in a Soulnado lol

Anyway, the way Triborg absorbs/downloads or w.e he did to Sektor's head in the initial reveal trailer makes me think this thing is its own dude for the most part. I think Sektor (or somebody) could have created and programmed him a long time ago with a set time to "activate" but I think its making it's own decisions and likely not being manipulated by Noob or anything of the sort.

I do like the idea of this character a lot. I want to say that it can separate into multiple beings (or stay as just 1) but still control and be all 3 simultaneously if it so pleases. Pretty cool if you ask me lol

I can't wait for his release, I am so pumped for the Smoke variation!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It kind of feels right since we didn't get Cyber Smoke in MK9, not even as non-canon DLC so im happy :)

Maybe Smoke is Noob!!! Because now we have Enenra, and Noob took the body of Smoke, because he was teared apart from the soulnado. Hm, I think I nailedit! :D

It is already coinfirmed that Triborg is his own character, with the same intro/outro/banters for every variation.
So there is no Sektor, Cyrax or Smoke in this game.

I developed a fan-theory:
Triborg is the deceased Lin Kuei Grandmaster, who found a way to upload his conscence into a more advanced, powerful, cool cyborg able to imitate the fighting styles of Sektor, Smoke and Cyrax, and of course is hunting down Sub Zero.

My two cents..

Kool theory bro, but Triborg may be a nickname, because is so fucking lame. So This dark/black Smoke could be Noob ;) Or Noob could command him.

Well to me, a Sektor backup plan makes the most sense. Cyrax doesn't really strike me as somebody who would plan to assimilate sektor nor even be able to think of it. He was mostly focused on survival and "pure" self-preservation. Smoke left to accompany Tundra so I'd imagine he would NEVER chase that down to become Triborg in any case after seeing what it did to him. That leaves Sektor. No not because I'm a fan. It just makes the most sense.

It would also make sense for Sektor's list to consist of the following:

-Backup Sektor/survive
-Assimilate any existing Lin Kuei cybernetic components
-----Self
-----Cyrax
-Complete Lin Kuei cyber initiative
-----Smoke needs to be converted, revanent or not
-----Subzero needs to be converted once again or die.

Sektor would want to leave Subzero to last as he is more powerful than Sektor and his biggest threat. The percentages say to get as powerful as possible before ta king on Subzero. This, in my honest opinion, has all come to pass aside the Subzero part and the character we see has done all but retake subzero/Lin Kuei. I'll bet Triborg is one consciousness comprised of all three with Sektor's being what is the leading force.

I'll bet if this character is canon, he will be a complete wildcard and struggle between the minds of the three. It could be a very interesting dynamic if he rivals the Lin Kuei or even for the Tekunin ( "Trikunin" now? Haha) and becomes a major player.

An army of cyborgs under the control of a conciousness that shifts and battles itself constantly would be nuts.

As much as I love noob saibot, I don't see him coming into play here. It would be awesome though.

This would not surprise me. Vogel and company have been using the "army being controlled by one consciousness" ending since Smoke's MKA ending.

When I think about it tho, I'm leaning more to Chameleon. He's not "canon" and "might not be" and he has the ability to shapeshift, so he somehow implemented that ability to the cybernetics. Plus they'll make him more interesting that way. Also his name is not really original because we have (sadly) another Khameleon who is a canon. So it's fucking Chameleon!

I nailed it again :D ALSO some guy from TRMK said he was watching the gameplay video very closely and noticed that Sektor looks like hologram, I have to inspect that, but it smells again like Cham.

I also feel like there's a small outside chance we might be getting story DLC.

*****COMIC SPOILERS TO FOLLOW*****
I'm on my cellphone so it's simply too much to deal with spoiler caption right now. Sorry guys. It's been long enough anyways.

The comics seemed to very intentionally return to Subzero and the Lin Kuei at the very end of the run. Is it simply coincidence that Kuai Liang and Sektor's battle happened and concluded off screen? Why wouldn't Sektor get the Sindel, Baraka or Rain treatment for a killer flashback fight in the Subzero chapter?

To have that followed up by Triborg and a return just screams story dlc to me. You never know.

-Look at the time that has passed. It's got to be more than four characters and netcode.
-Comic ends on purpose with Sub vs the Lin Kuei
-That chapter has Bo Rai Cho, Sektor, Cyrax and Subzero
-Three of those four are returning in Kombat Pack 2
-We don't see the Sektor fight in story but his head, oxygen feed and "Sektor Lives" banner are present with detailed description of the events.

I feel like we could get a "Retake the Lin Kuei" story bundle. Playing as subzero with the original comic story and battle against sektor via the variation, complete with Bo Rai cho's presence but continued with a rematch between a returned Triborg vs Subzero.

"Retake the Lin Kuei" would sell. We all know it would. Hell, they could add a scorpion parallel and call it "Fire and Ice".

Just a hunch. There's a lot that makes it seem to me.like this was planned from.the beginning.
