I unlocked Revenant Kung Lao whilst playing online King of the Hill. It was my first time had a winning streak and over 500 points and he popped up!

Is anybody else as disappointed as I am that these costumes aren't in the krypt?

Personally, I like the variation. I like that they're making you try out everything and so far some of it (like the Sub-Zero one) seems to be random or at least completing a set number of TYM towers or something. It's a nice change of pace, to me anyway.

I can understand the appeal, I just like having multiple ways of unlocking something. Plus the krypt in this game kicks ass so I"m all for extending the experience.

I think they will. The way games work now, I'm sure they can add skins later through the Krypt from those randomly appearing chests and DLC and shit. If they want to go that far, the sky is the limit. Time will tell, though.

Just unlocked dark emperor liu kang by doing challenge towers over and over again. just beat the tower then hit new tower, rinse and repeat until profit. I first heard about this from a guy on gamefaqs who claimed to do 5 towers in a row. when I first tried it I had no luck, but I decided to try again an hour later and unlocked him after four towers.

Getting these extra costumes is a fun challenge, the only thing I'm a bit miffed about is that I don't have a PS+ account and am locked out of getting the Revenant Kung Lao costume. I was hoping there wouldn't be any online ones. Oh well, nothing I can do I guess.

I'm gonna do this step by step so nobody gets confused.

1. Main menu, one player

2. towers

3. tower challenges

4. new tower challenges

5. once the current tower is beaten select new tower and repeat until the skin is unlocked.

That's the one thing that really annoys me about NRS lately. All these costumes that you have to unlock by some outside means, like the mobile app. I don't have the mobile app, and I don't have anything that can run the mobile app, so I certainly won't be playing it. I'm really hoping they'll at least make those outfits available via DLC at some point.




I think you just have to beat 10 test your might levels. Doesn't matter which ones.
Last night, I tried my first Test Your Might challenge. Then, today, I decided to tackle the tower, and I unlocked the costume after beating the second last one. So it's probably just based on how many times you successfully complete a TYM.

It is true. It took me 6 challenges but i got dark emperor Liu Kang.

Did 1 before and now did like 8 or 9 in a row and unlocked the skin.

Actually, I think it's a lot simpler than that. I've been trying and trying, and no Dark Emperor Liu Kang. Finally, I decided to make sure that I get every single dragon challenge during the challenge tower, and sure enough, that did the trick.

This one is SO FRUSTRATING. I have zero difficulty until match 14 it gets a bit tougher, and then 15 ALWAYS wipes the floor with me.

The absence of hotshot johnny is weighing heavily on my heart, ive been playing survivor and i can only get a 5 streak. Any advice?

Understandable. The P2 colors make it my favorite JC costume.

Try creating a private match with a friend or two and ask them to help you out.

Hotshot Johnny is only unlockable in a public room. Create a room with a boring name with a letter at the end of the alphabet. Barely anyone will scroll that far and if they do they won't click. Join that room with a friend.

I did it with Blade in a room called Svern or something.
