My college recently had a Mortal Kombat X Competition going on last weekend. Being a hardcore fan and all, I decided to go in. Now, I haven't played the game in like 8 months because the netcode wasn't working good at all for me and once I unlocked everything, beat the game with everyone, I didn't see much of a reason to play. I went in thinking I would kick ass, nah I got whooped pretty bad.

BUT, let me say this....The cinematic quality that MKX had to a group of like 20 people in the room was astounding. I was able to appreciate MKX much more than when it was first released. The dirt going on the clothes, the music, the graphics, the amount of energy going on around the room during each match was a great feeling. Mortal Kombat is definitely headed in the right direction, but its also noticeably heading toward the competitive crowd as well, there wasn't much complaints aiming at the roster during the competition like "Where's Sindel? Where's Kabal? Blah Blah Blah" People actually digged the roster...Everyone gets disappointed if their favorite isn't in for the first few weeks, but eventually people got over it, because in the end, the gameplay was what people enjoyed in the end..

This is a positive note to NRS saying that even though there's a quite a few disappointments like the small level of stages, bad netcode, and no 2 on 2 (they should fix that in MK11), there's definitely a really good, gritty, realistic, energy in the overall game and it feels good to be a MK fan again...finally ALSO: What do people think if they went to real life actors and somehow made them fit in a fantasy environment for MK11?

Yeah its a solid game, I love playing it when I get the chance. Playing it with a group of friends is an absolute blast as well lol especially when somebody does a fatality/brutality and people who don't really play/follow MK are watching, the room goes wild lol

MK is heading in a very positive direction. You can't please everyone, but NRS is continuing to evolve and put out better games. If they could upgrade the netcode to stop the incessant bitching, all would be right with the world.

Starting with Mk9 my concern form gameplay and balance skyrocketed. I now get more hyped for a combo that bodies rather than a body that's dismembered. Thing is I still love story and fatalities all the same so, yeah, Mortal Kombat has just gotten better and better for me.
