He is ether dead or hiding according to his plotline. I personally hope he is gone. He was one of those characters that lacked simply every bit of originality.

In Rain's own ending in MKT, we're told that he turned against Shao Kahn, but failed, and was killed. Since we've seen or heard nothing about him since, I beleieve this ending most likely happened. Rain just seemed like a temporary character anyway, started out a UMK3 hoax (only appearing in the intro) and was added to get yet more mileage out of the ninja sprite. IF he ever comes back (and I'm in no hurry to see him again) he needs a serious makeover.

I Really thought he was gonna be in this game, i feel that his character type and description really fit the deception theme perfectly.

I like Rain. If he gets a plot and 'fashion' makeover, and maybe some better moves, then he should definately be in MK7.

konquet holds about as much continuity in the mk universe as the movies do and that aint much

Rain's one of my favorites. He better return in MK7!!

current position is he is missing. he was on khans side after kidnapped and raised...fought against kitana but was revealed about his true identity of khan killing his father who was an edenian general and decided to join kitana, He goes missing during an extermination squad attack and his alliance with earth and kitana is questioned so he decided to embark on a suicide mission to k ill khan but after he embarks the rest is a mystery.....i think his ending says khan killed him but i dont think that is canon Nothing truely confirmed so he is either still plotting to kill khan very very secretly or he is dead.

My guess is that for MK7 lets say kahn wins and is ruler again and now kitana's army is very very hurt. Rain comes and takes over his fathers role as general and raises Kitana's army back up since the last time we here of rain he finally decided to take sides for Edenia and go against khan to avenge his fathers murder. He is head of the Edenian army and builds it back up for a mass revolution against khan.

He may come back to the storyline but not as an actual playable character, that wold be lame.

And to those who want to quit simply becouse one character...quit it, have some backbone now!

Ed Boon Said Nobody Really dies in Mortal Kombat.

what ed boon ment by noone really dies in MK is that no one stays dead...He never ment that noone actually dies.....alot of MK characters died but the main difference is they dont stay dead. Scorpion died before, hsu hao died, classic sub died, sheeva died, motaro died, kintaro died....so you see alot of characters died but boon ment they dont stay dead and will eventulally come back for some reason....oh yea and liu kang died. So even if Rains ending was canon and he died more than likely look for him in future MK games.

But anyways Rain should deffinately come back. He had the best set of moves in UMK3. They need to re-do his costume like they did to Ermac. He would be perfect for the next MK game.

If they broght back Noob-Smoke in Deception, Im almost certain that Rain will be in MK:7. He is a really good fighter imo and deserves to have more of an impact in MK.

When I first seen and played wit Rain on MK:Trilogy and UMK3, he was one of the most intimidating characters ive seen in MK.

Well, as we have all learned, death doesn't mean anything in the MK universe so I'm sure they will find some possible way to say that he 'survived'.

It would make a great story line and they would of course try to defeat Shao Khan and his Extermination squads.
