Johnny, Sonya, and Jax could all be NPCs and I wouldn't be bothered even a little. Have them in the game and relevant to the story, but they could be limited to the cut scenes and stuff.

The real question is which noobs must not return :D I hate Kung Jin, Cassie, Jaqy and Takeda. The other noobs are fine. I too hate Sonya and Liu Kang. That's all.

Old characters, I'd agree, Sonya, Johnny, and Jax could all be NPC's and set the next game out and I wouldn't be upset. I'm a bit burnt out on anything Special Forces related after this game.

- Sonya or Johnny should be a cameo. One can stay but the other should go.

- Doubt Liu & Kitana are going anywhere given that ending. Depending on who the villain of the piece is, being cameos could work.

- Kenshi could sit out if they again have nothing for him to do except he'll probably be in anyway just to fill that 3D quota like they've been doing.

- Mileena and Quan Chi should sit one out due to their respective deaths.

- You can have some of Kotal's groupies sit out to show his growing influence and power in Outworld by his expansive posse. Change out characters like Ermac, Reptile, Ferra/Torr and Erron Black for characters like Li Mei, Reiko, Nitara, Skarlet, Sheeva/Goro/Kintaro, or more new characters/species.

I hope we get a new big bad in MK11. I do want Shao Kahn to come back one day, and I also want Onaga to make a return but I think it's time for a new villain. I know damn well the Netherrealm has more to offer than the newly evil Liu or Kitana. Outworld must have somebody out there other than returnees who could pose a serious threat as well.

Give us a super awesome all new villain!!!!

All of them along with all the new characters from MKX and the vets from MK 2011 that were nonsensically excluded from MKX.

I'm tired of this cherry picking characters shit.

Stick with the roster and steadily build upon it with three new characters (or reintroduced reinvented characters) per game. That way we won't find ourselves and the total cluster fuck of characters we did by time MK Armageddon came around.

And don't give me the "but what do they add to the story?" Who cares? The story doesn't matter, especially when it comes to the freaking roster. MKX's roster proves that. Otherwise we wouldn't have a hellspawn Scorpion wielding fire, a nonsensically aged Liu Kang, or living Kung Lao and Kitana, or Goro with all of his arms intact. Also...hello Triborg.

I would say that kano, Quan chi, mileena, and shinnok probably don't need to be back for almost any reason.

I think that jax, johnny, sonya, kenshi, and kung lao should be killed off 1 by 1 throughout the story of MK11 but in vastly different ways allowing for their descendants to grow and mature in different ways. Maybe leave sonya or johnny alive so it doesn't feel like a total bloodbath. Make each of them playable as a farewell but don't bring them back from the dead. At least not for a couple games.

Ermac should be back but possessed by Shang. Reptile should be back as the leading general of Kotal Kahn army. Scorpion and sub will be there but involve them in the plot a bit more naturally. Etc.

Bring back whoever you want but make them grow and change like real human beings/humanoid monsters.
