Which game would suit The Terminator more: MKX, or Injustice 2?

Spawn's still rumored to appear in MKX, though I2's also a possibility.

Anyway, in my case, it's a little hard to say, because MKX has the gore, and I2 will have what I call the superheroics. Spawn's universe essentially has both.

Other things that makes it hard to decide:

1) I don't know whose butt I'd rather see Spawn kick: Scorpion's, or Batman's?

2) On one hand, if I2 got him, that'd leave his spot in MKX for someone else, and I can think of fresher characters, MK ones and guests alike, that could use it. Spawn's already made a guest appearance in a fighting game before, after all. But on the other hand, Spawn in MKX could have interesting variants, like the Medieval Spawn, and Spawn skins for other characters (like Cowboy Spawn, for you-know-who). Although, with the accessories in I2, Spawn could be customized into other Spawns.

Yep, really hard to decide.

Spawn for Injustice 2, MKX has enough guest characters.

Then again if he was for MK then it really depend on whose place he would be taking, who is going to miss the cut. Sareena, Havik or Fujin, fine. Frost, then no.

bruh.

Also, I feel like ultimately, he makes more sense for Injustice, but he'd be used to his full, violent potential in MKX. I feel like MKX is pretty much at its maximum capacity for guests though.

I was waiting for that reaction from somebody. tongue The reason I said that is because I want BOTH Havik and Hotaru to be in the main roster of MK 11. grin

Either. MKX because he is brutal and violent, and Injustice 2 because he originated as a comic book character, not to mentioned he could kind of fit with Injustice's darker theme.

For comic book fit-in purposes, plus the fact he had 2 cross-overs with Batman, Injustice 2.

But for the ultra-violence of Spawn, MKX.

In either case, he'd be fit into either universe relatively well, but he would belong more in Injustice 2. MKX is so saturated with unnecessary guest characters that another one would seriously be the straw that broke the camel's back. Enough with the goddamn guest characters in MK.

Neither. I dont get Spawn's popularity.

Well I guess given the death metal edgyness of Spawn I guess MKX.

I don't have anything against Spawn, but I can never figure out why everyone's up on his dick about wanting him as a guest character in random fighting games. His comic sells poorly and nobody outside of comics has thought about him in ages, yet people want him in just about every fighting game.

Why?

Like, seriously... where does this come from?

Because Spawn's supposed lack of relevancy automathically means his design and abilities suck and he couldn't possibly have a great moveset as well as great fatalities and brutalities if he were to end up in MKX (or just great gameplay, in I2's case), right?

You do realize that the relevancy argument can also be used as an excuse not to include lesser known MK/DC characters, don't you? For your sake I hope none of them are among your personal favorites, because if Spawn's not relevant enough, then obscure MK/DC characters are even less so, and I wouldn't count on NRS to give us more than two tops in MKX's case even if there weren't anymore guests, as there are still four core characters left to bring back: Noob Saibot, Shang Tsung, Baraka and Shao Kahn.

I just hate the relevancy argument, that's all. Nintendo's been wiping it's ass with it ever since the first Super Smash Bros game by including obscure characters like Captain Falcon, who funnily seemed to have become more relevant after appearing in SSB.

I vote for no guests for the next MK... MKX had enough of them. I so hope that this trend of guest characters just dies already, for MK atleast. So Spawn can be in Injustice not that i really care who makes it in in Injustice. not a comics book person but I hope to play the game because its a fighting game from NRS

Injustice 'cause I don't give a damn about DC Universe and 'cause I'm sick and tired of guests in MK games.

The first Injustice had only one guest, MK9 had 2 and MKX had 4.

I've edited the thread title, and decided to bump this thread in light of the Terminator being possibly a I2 guest.

Anyway, to me, MKX all the way. Far more logical opponents for him: The Alien, the Predator, the Cyborgs, Kano, Johnny and Sonya, with Leatherface and Jason as bonuses. Add Stryker to that list and we'd have every logical opponents for the Terminator, all in one game. It's unlikely we'd ever see all those characters in the same game again, MKX is just the right one for the Terminator.

Because aside from Superman, Metallo and Deathstroke (who's also called the Terminator), there aren't that many characters from the DC universe that'd make as awesome opponents.

The Terminator would suit MK X more, as I imagine the customisation options for the machine would be somewhat limited.

If Kristanna Loken or Robert Patrick could provide their voices for the characters, then I would be overjoyed.

I disagree about the customization. The Terminator could be armed with the various futuristic weapons from the movies, summon non-humanoid machines, and of course you have the various models like the T-101, the T-1000 and the T-X.

The problem with the Terminator in I2 is not gameplay, but the fact that he wouldn't have as many interesting opponents as he would in MKX, imo.

They can be differentiated but I think Blue Beetle's gear would make the terminator's weapons a tad bit repetitive: blades and guns are a slight concern. However, I admit nanomachines are unique like D'Vorah's swarm.

Another problem with the Terminator being in I2 would be Robocop not being there as well. Robocop's exclusion in MKX would be okay, given all the fitting opponents for the Terminator that are already in it, but I2 is a different story.

Wow I really regret those times when Tremor was the most requested among fan.
He sucks, but at least he is a f'ing MK character.

Now, I'm really looking forward to the day no more guests will be added in MK games.
If NRS wants to make a horror icon fighting game, then let them do it instead of Injustice 3. But give me a proper MK11.

Never gonna happen. Period.

You should check out the interview with Brian Chard if you haven't already. He pretty much spilled the beans on how Ed and all the central design team at NRS are expected to be yes men for WB. Because of their extensive character library, WB wants guest characters in MK, so NRS cannot say no. Plus, Ed is practically enslaved by the Twitter idiot mentality. When enough legit fans say "Where's Fujin/Sareena/Noob?" he doesn't even bat an eye, but when 1000 dipshits come together and say "HEY ED! PUT JAR JAR BINKS IN THE NEXT MK! HERE'S A PETITION!", they command Ed's full attention. The dumber it is, the more likely he'll pay attention to it.

So sadly, as much as I agree with you, guest characters are as much a staple of MK now as Fatalities - the only way there won't be a guest character in an MK game moving forward is if no MK game ever gets made again.

Um...why would the inclusion of Terminator necessitate the inclusion of Robocop? They have nothing to do with each other. Robocop and Terminator are two separate franchises that aren't even created by the same companies. That's like saying Spider-Man can't be a guest character in a game if James Bond isn't in it too.

I'm guessing the Robocop vs. Terminator video game/comic book from the early 90's is your only exposure to either franchise? They both started as movie franchises in the 1980's. Dark Horse comics acquired the rights to produce Terminator comics while the Robocop rights bounced from Marvel to Dark Horse to several other companies since the 90's. But they were never once part of the same "universe" (Aside from the one-time crossover comic/game) nor would they require each other to be present in a game. In fact, the Superman v. Terminator crossover tied the Terminator's presence in DC comics squarely to LexCorp and Hank Henshaw(Cyborg Superman).

One day the candidate guests will be over. All the most popular slasher serial killers have been used, with the exception of Mike Myers, who is another Jason Voorheese, power wise at least.
They could use some more obscure character like Pumpkin Head, but by the time MK 13 or 14 hits the shelves, I highly doubt NRS will put guests again.
