I wouldn't mind seeing Shao Kahn as that kind of character just not Quan Chi.

I am a pro Quan Chi and he is my favorite character, however he doesn't need to have the amulet to remain a major character in the storyline.

Just like when Shang Tsung lost his status of Grand Champion in MK1 he still remained a major and dangerous character

I like Quan Chi, and I would like to see him again. I hope they can give more details in terms of a backstory on him, namely to the time when he was an Oni and how he changed when becoming a sorcerer.

I doubt it. Although John Vogel said in Quan Chi's bio video that we don't know where he's from, there is an Oni in the Netherrealm that says that he knew Quan Chi before Quan Chi became a sorcerer and that Quan Chi was not that much different from him back then which implies that Quan Chi was originally an Oni.

I'm not sure how much of this is canon, but I think it can be taken as canon. It makes sense to me that Quan Chi is from the Netherrealm.

Id like to see Quan Chi return. He was great in DA and could do a lot in MK7.
