I gotta wonder what goes on in the heads of people in charge of MK's marketing. Like did someone seriously think "Let's tell them in a press release there's a new batch of content coming and then go completely silent for a while. That builds hype right?!"

Really though... It's like okay good now that all the casuals have left, lets spring these 4 random fighters to get their interest back. Ummm No! That makes no sense. I used to play with like 12 people online consistently now maybe 2 of them play and the rest of them have traded in mkx for new preorders for games that won't have shady delevopers who go dark for months. Very sad.

Yeah idk what they were thinking waiting so long on KP2. They should have sold it while everybody was still interested. I know most of us are still playing and waiting, but a lot of people have moved on by now.

They were thinking they were done with MKX, that's what they were thinking. Then the game kept selling and selling and selling so they decided to make KP2 and cave to fan demands.

That's the simple truth of it. And the fact of the matter is that it takes time to develop new content.

I think there wasn't a KP2 at all, but due to the sales and demand for new content they started from the zero to make these new four characters and that's why they gonna take so long to appear.

They could go out on a limb and have all 4 new ones, but that would be really weird since some of these stories appearances could use some great upgrades and be awesome. Baraka, Fujin & Bo Rai Cho / Smoke (Enenra or some shit) / Nightwolf could really save this game for me.

That's probably what happened tbh. They probably didn't plan on releasing more than the first 4 but decided to once they released how much $$$ they would get lol

Maybe the plan is to release all the new content simultaneously with the inevitable komplete edition. It would explain why it's so far off and it's also a good to get new players.

Personnally, I'm really excited for it.

Still coulda told us who's in the pack. Keeping fans in the dark is the last thing you should do when you know they've been begging for a second KP.

This would make sense and is probably the most likely case as to why KP2 is taking so long. That and something to keep the game relevant after SFV comes out and build hype for Evo.

But that said, I'm gonna be pretty disappointed if they release the characters one by one. It would suck to wait all the way till January at the absolute EARLIEST (could be much later) and only get one character. It takes awhile to design a character I'm sure but it doesn't take THAT long. Specially when its NRS and the character is bound to have some recycled animations, moves and/or intros. Not to mention if it does turn out to be the story pack in which case all the character designs were completed when the game first came out.

I thought we were supposed to find out during the first week of Oct? It nearly the end of Oct and not a word.

Somebody misinterpreted a tweet that said there'd be news about ESL Season 2 details and instead thought it meant KP2 details.

This is a longshot and I'm not hoping for anything but what are the chances we see something about MK at PSX? It's in December and we were shown MKX's first ever gameplay at the PS press conference last year at E3.

(Like I said it's a longshot but I'm getting desperate lol)

I'm still betting on a reveal that centers around ESL for promotional purposes. I don't think they'd do something at a Playstation event because they'd have nothing exclusive to provide at this point almost a year after its release.

Unless PS4 are getting exclusive skins or something (which I couldn't give two fucks about) I'm fairly certain an exclusive character this late in the game is 100% out of the cards so I'm guessing ESL or a random date (perhaps around one of the two remaining holidays) are the two most likely options we're facing.

I'd say that's the smart bet. As of now, the finals are listed as "early 2016", timing (if Q1 release is their intention) seems right. Plus, season 1 finals pulled huge numbers, the more eyes for such an announcement, the better.
