Why arent there female Boss characters?
Why arent there female Boss characters?
Me personally I'd like to see a female Boss character for a change. I get that it's hard to come up with such a character that's female but it's not impossible. I myself have come up with a female Boss character called Mae... she's half-vampire and half-werewolf. This is what she looks like

People flipped their shit when Cassie, a trained fighter with magical powers, was the main hero and beat shinnok. When liu kang, a trained fighter with magical powers beat Shao khan no one cared. They might do it eventually but it would have to play into the story they wanted to tell and they would need to present it very carefully to gain fan approval.

If they lack imagination for a female boss, I'd recommend they play Cardinal Syn. Not only is the main villain a witch, but she also transforms into a dragon.
Pretty neat if I say so myself.

Next Diablo needs Viking female Hel. Ruler of the icy realm of the dead, Hel, and Kali of Blood, working to revive the 5 Lords of Hell through bloodshed, war, etc...

What about a fallen female Goddess with a weapon that has the ability to destroy a soul, so that there is no chance anyone killed with it can return.

Sexism.
NRS and its fandom of pigheads doesn't think females can be intimidating.
Like an old nursing home patient and a big ugly dude in a goofy looking helmet and underwear are so scary...

I know people aren't going to really count this and I don't really either, but Sheeva sort of is a boss character - see below.
http://mortalkombat.wikia.com/wiki/Sheeva
Sheeva is a sub-boss in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, always appearing at the end of the female-only ladder, right before Blaze. She doesn't have any alterations, and even appears in another ladder as a regular character.
This makes Sheeva the first and currently the only female boss in the Mortal Kombat series.

As brutal as this, pretty much this. On a different forum after I called Sheeva a jobber in MK9, someone replied and said that they still was intimidated by her in the story mode.
So, they can make imposing females, hell, I do find Mileena and Skarlet intimidating too. Different sort of intimidating to Shao Kahn etc though. More down to attitudes and stuff.
Its not like they've done so many female monsters really. Mileena, Nitara, Sheeva, Sareena and Khameleon, are all mostly normal in their facial or body features. MOSTLY.
To be honest, if they ever was going to do a "One Being" final boss, that one I could believe being female.

I said it a long time ago, I'll say it again. Evil Female God character needs to happen. Someone Raiden can spar with on equal footing. Someone who is a legitimate threat to everyone, Raiden included. Make her a protector of Outworld, Chaosrealm, Orderrealm, a new realm or something. Not only do we need more God type characters but a female one, especially an evil female one, would be cool as shit.
It'd be fucking kick ass.

There has not been a female boss yet because it has not come up in MK's story. It's not sexism, you progressive social justice warriors need to quit being so ridiculous. There is a pretty big chance there will be a female boss in the next game, if the ending in MKX is like the ending in MK9 and a direct foreshadowing of the next game. I couldn't think of a better character to be MK's first female boss, Kitana of course. I just hope she isn't still dressed up as Catwoman. It's still mind boggling that no one in NRS said "don't you guys think Kitana's evil queen costume looks a lot like Catwoman?" After all that awesome concept art, they went with the Catwoman costume. Smh
I'm not opposed to Kitana being the boss, but I would rather see Lui Kang as the main boss because he's the evil king now. But I wouldn't mind Kitana being the main boss if Lui Kang is the sub boss out of chivalry for Kitana.

Agree with the critic towards the social warriors, it's the same than the cries for the gay character, we got one when the story made sense and it felt right that way, forcing stuff for the sake of social justice is NOT a good way to tell a story. Not opposed to female bosses at all, just let it make sense with MK lore instead of demanding it now. The past 2 games were remakes of 2 previous stories that happened to have male villians.
I don't agree with the Catwoman thing though, to me she looks more like Snow White's evil stepmother lol. And I think Liu Kang and Kitana would be sub-bosses at much with a bigger threat than them emerging.
Also a reminder that even if not placed at the end of the ladder, Sindel exterminated the defenders of earthrealm by herself, Mileena was the "mid story" boss as her death ends the civil war arc and D'Vorah has a huge role on the story, so there are plenty of formidable female foes in the story, just not on the top of the arcade ladder, not to mention the protagonist of the game is already a female.

I feel like Mileena in MKX was the best opportunity for a female boss. Especially since she had the amulet, which could've been used to buff all her moves. But alas, it wasn't meant to be.
And who knows ? Maybe Liu Kang and Kitana will be a Tag boss for MK11? Kinda like how Shang and Quan shoulda been.
I support this.

I agree and to make her a legitimate thread to everyone she could be a fallen female Goddess with a weapon that has the ability to destroy a soul, so that there is no chance anyone killed with it can return.
Probably because NRS sometimes struggles with their female characters and girls in fighting games, no matter how well they're handled or how popular they are seem to flounder a bit.
But uh I wouldn't mind Kitana and Liu Kang pulling a Deadly Alliance in MKXI.

Or Ashrah gets radicalized by her kriss, and becomes a threat...
Sindel was a Queen, and offed half the kast...
Sheeva was a playable Shokan, the sub-bosses from the first 2 games
Kitana was a Princess
Mileena, ended up as Kahn
Sindel, and Kitana have even more potential now, as the rulers of Hell.

yes but liu kang was trained through bo rai cho and was part of the white lotus where he would of trained hard.
Cassie (one of my favourite female characters) is special forces and would never of had the level of training liu kang did. even if it was from sonya. bo rai cho is a master fighter thats why he is powerful so it makes sense for liu kang to win as the white lotus has powerful mentors to train liu kang

Its the fact shinnok in his biggest and most powerful form (powerful than shao kahn) lost to cassie it makes no sense what so ever atleast shao kahn in mk9 was a force to be reckoned with and raiden barely beat him and needed the elder gods power, cassie cage just beat him easily with zero help lol.

If they add a character with a badass design and backstory, i don't care what gender they are , hell they don't even have to have a gender. But to just make the next main boss be female "because its 2015" is fucking dumb and those people need to go play in traffic... On the interstate. The main villian is a major part of the story, arguably the most important part. It's make or break for the story on how they do with the big bad. They did well with shinnok until they fucked it up so bad by having cassie take out bossmode shinnok while Johnny Cage and kung jin play spectator/cheerleader. Come to think of it they kinda fucked over kotal Kahn. Hes made to look like a total bitch compared to shao kahn.kung jin & Jacqui beat him during the story, while shao kahn was snapping necks and being a fucking boss. I hope we get to see a shao/kotal kahn battle in the next game.
