A missed opportunity but then again the Baraka/Alien failed to impress me: I would say that character had the least amount of effort spent on its conception, so I am not surprised by the lack of skins.

Ripley would have been the obvious choice for Sonya, however I wanted a Hudson skin for Johnny.

Maybe Weaver wouldn't sign off on it?

That would be very likely. She's notoriously anti-video game. She used to be one of the biggest anti-VG personalities in Hollywood. I remember when they made the Ghostbusters game back in '09, she was practically insulted that they invited her to reprise her role as Dana Barrett. Then she found out Bill Murray and the rest of the cast were involved and she went on and on about how she now regretted passing on the project. Now she's become more inclined to get involved (Alien: Isolation a perfect example), but she's very picky and uptight about what projects she would consider. We were eyeing her at Blizzard for a role in what was then an upcoming expansion (Legion) but she was very quick to turn it down and give half a dozen uppity reasons why she does not want to do it.

Surely S. Weaver doesn't own the character Ripley, that would be the writers/filmmakers' intellectual property, right?

It's easy to come up with ideas after the fact, in a retrospective way. Why didn't they include MKvsDC skins in MK9? Another perfectly wasted opportunity (especially because some of those outfits were completely different like Shang & Baraka).

For sure its an IP and IP costs money. Sucks tho. MKvsDC skins would have been super cool. Alot of games just make a charachter just like an IP protected charachter but then change the name slightly. Dunno why they didnt do that...storacasinoaventuret Well well you can dream right!
