greatest amount of original and different characters in one package? Defi-nitely Deadly Alliance.

I agree with Chrome. MKDA has an amazing roster of characters, each one more unique than the next. Even the ninjas are cool in that game.

These are the reasons for not picking the others:

MK1 - All of these characters are in MKDA, except Liu Kang.
MK2 - Half of the roster is pallette swaps, and the originals aren't that great.
MK3 - Overrided by UMK3...
UMK3 - Again, lots of pallette swaps, but I would have probably picked this for second.
MK4 - They put too many classics in, and the new MK4 characters sucked shit (Not MKM:SZ).
MKD - Again, too many classics, and characters that are irrelevant to the actual story.

Hmm...excluding Armageddon and Trilogy, I'm going to have to say Unchained.

Deadly Alliance had a lot of classic characters alright but to be honest, I don't care for Dhramin or Nitara and I hate the Red Dragon and anyone associated with it. As for Unchained, that was a remake of the game that finally brought my favorite (Smoke) back into the mix as well as gave Ermac an interesting backstory. Aside from Ermac and Smoke, I'm rather fond of Hotaru and Havok (Darrius and Dairou however are lame and unneccesary add-ons to the Chaos vs Order thing.). On top of that, it and the two versions of Deception are the only games to have a Tag Team (a feature I wish they made optional in Armageddon). Then, the crowning achievement for Deception/Unchained was that the Gamecube and PSP versions had a playable Goro and Shao Kahn. What's not to love about that (Not to mention that Unchained had four characters from DA)? Furthermore, it had the most interesting final boss fight. Granted, MK3 Shao Kahn was harder (And almost impossible to beat.) but I find the whole "breaking the Kamidogu to get some cheap shots in" kool if not difficult.

Review:
-Brought back people that I missed and made them kooler.
-Only game to have a tag team.
-Chaos and Order scenario was kool.
-Koolest last fight.
-Had four characters from DA and ones that DA didn't have.
-Goro and, more importantly, SHAO KAHN!

i would probably say MKDA, and here's why....

It had most of the popular orignal, and i agree with Ninja_Mime that the ninjas were cool in this game. The new characters, except for Bo Rai Cho imo were awesome, and they had most of my favorite characters in it, so its a great roster.

MK:DA, the same reason why Chrome and Ninja_Mime picked it.

MK:DA. It's already been stated why a thousand times.

mkda might have had the best new comers but mkd had the most fan favorits in it and the ninjas might have been more uniqe but diffrently not cooler so mkd!

I actually kinda agree with you... It has one of my favorites Kabal in it.. And it is about time they put some older characters in who Aren't original

Deadly Alliance, i like for the same reasons everyone else does

i woud have to say mortal kombat deception love the dark raiden in it

this is a tough one. i'd have to say tie between deception and mk3.
