Mortal Kombat has become a timeless franchise. Now, that it's expanded to an "alternate timeline", the possibilities are endless. Maybe other people will offer their own takes on the universe and stuff. After Ed Boon retires, he'll hand it over to someone else and they'll take it from there and so on and so on.

Unless of course...eventually it stops making money and no one wants it anymore. That will be the only for sure ending.

*Everyone dies. One Being returns; destroys everything and EG's finally finish it and defeated all hope of reality ever being reformed.
