Damn you kids....

I'm 40 years old and I've been playing MK since my late teens. Use to work at a pizza place in college that happened to have a Mortal Kombat console in the game room. Yes it was Mortal Kombat, not Mortal Kombat II, 3, etc but the original Mortal Kombat. Whenever it was slow or when I worked closing, I would get to use all my free game tokens. Hah! Considering the only other games in that place were those annoying kiddie ticket for prize games, it might have been what caused me to become a fan to begin with.

33 years old. Started playing Mortal Kombat when it debuted 19 years ago. I was pretty good at MK1, given how limited it was.

When MKII came out, I was just in love. I would spend hours at the arcades playing MKII and I was overjoyed when they released a SNES version with the blood intact (don't get me wrong, the SNES version of MK1 is not a bad game...but it could've been a better one). Won many local tournaments with my trademark non-morphing Shang Tsung.

Was pumped for MK3 and when it finally came to the arcades, I played it a lot. Got good with Sindel and Smoke. Hated the version of Shang Tsung in it so I didn't play him as much. Beat the game with everyone in the arcade. Got the SNES version, but I didn't play it as much. I really didn't like dial-a-combos, much preferring the cross over juggling style of MKII. When I was in university, UMK3 was released and the arcade at the student center held a tournament. Got my PSX and a copy of Mortal Kombat Trilogy for winning first place (I used Ermac). Despite this, I didn't play much. Fatalities were so lazily done in the MK3/UMK3/MKT era, compared to the lovingly crafted and still good by today's standards MKII ones.

Never played MKM:SZ or MKSF. UMK3 had kinda soured me on the series.

Liked the first movie. Second one was terrible. Never watched Mortal Kombat Conquest. Never watched the animated stuff either.

MK4 came out. Never played it in the arcades. Picked up a used PSX copy cheap. Easy to see why after playing it. After a while, I stopped caring about Mortal Kombat entirely except to play MKII on my SNES periodically.

MKDA came out. Looked interesting. I had started playing 3D fighters like Tekken and Virtua Fighter so I was anxious to see how the MK team would handle it. I was not impressed. The cast was bad, the storyline was decent and the fighting engine was piss awful.

MKD came out. I tried to get excited. Made a series of sprite comics basically telling my version of the story as we learned more about Deception. Did a series of Flash animations for ]{0MBAT and, with him, made Shujinko way more popular than he deserved. Eventually got burned out with the comics, flash, and the still piss awful 3D engine and went away.

MKSM came out. Good times were had by all. Hated the insertion of Quan Chi and the storyline was pretty terrible, but it was the most fun I'd had in MK in years.

MKA came out. MKSM had been good, but hopes were not high for a return to the dreaded MKDA fighting engine. I still managed to be disappointed. Went away again. Wondered if I'd ever come back.

MKvsDC was announced. Character models looked laughably bad for current gen. Made a few comics, but I was very jaded. Only posted periodically to make fun of it. Midway went bankrupt and for a brief shining moment, it seemed the final nail had been driven into the Mortal Kombat coffin.

MK2011 was announced. I was extremely wary. This was the team that had systematically and gradually destroyed Mortal Kombat since they had gotten everything so perfectly in MKII. To my surprise and delight, character models looked GOOD. Backgrounds looked phenomenal. For the first time since MKII, I wanted to play as Jax. I got really excited for the first time in a long time about a Mortal Kombat game. And here we are today. I may bitch, I may whine, I may gripe, but I've been around the series a long time and I eagerly wait for the time when it pulls itself out of the fighting game graveyard. Will MK2011 be the game? Let's hope so.

I'm 17. Started with MK3 on SNES when I was 4 or 5. Played that for years and didn't really get into the rest of the series until Deadly Alliance came out, which has been my favourite ever since.

I'm 19 and will be 20 in May, My oldest memory of MK was when back in 1996 (I think) where I went over to a friend's house to watch one of the older Godzilla movies and they had a Sega Genesis. He was playing as Sub Zero and I was Reptile. It was great fun and I became a MK fan since then.

My partents never seem to care if I played the games or not as long if there was no sex in the games since they where okay with me playing Turok, Dino Crisis, and Spawn for the PS1 at the time. I still remember the days of playing UMK3 at the arcades and wasting a good amount of money playing them. Not to mention I remember there was a non-blood version of MK2 at this one swiming pool back in 1998 or 1999 as a kid, and it not fun at all.

I never like the movies since neither of them where any good. I think I saw MKA in theathers as a kid and I remember it being pack with a lot of people.
