I know that many people have made a point of Mileena being immature and childish, however it wasn't always like that now was it? No I think given the responsibility of such a task Mileena may become the leader Outworld needs.
I think Baraka would have to guide her in the beginning until slowly but surely her mentality expands and she becomes the cold, dark, sadistic women she's more popularly known as.
So for arguments sake (and that's what it's really all about) lets say Mileena becomes Queen of Outworld.
Let's discuss how this would work in your view, how Mileena would fair in Kahn's former position. Let's debate!

Hmmm...I don't think Mileena would be a great leader because she is very deceptive and only cares about herself.Thats not very good for her followers. The crazy bitch would most likely kill her King lover Baraka and all hell would follow.grin

By the way Mileena and Baraka were portrayed in SM, I'd rather have someone else...guide Mileena on her way to be a great Empress...say, Reiko.

Under the experience and ruthlessness of General Reiko, Mileena could learn his ways, and then either...

* Mileena appoints him as her heir for mentoring him, Reiko kills Milleena and becomes new Emperor of Outworld, AND gets to wear Kahn's helmet.

Great topic, FL.

I agree that Mileena would be a terrible leader, and that's exactly why I want her to be Empress. Think about it....

If she were made Empress of Outworld, it creates a story for so many characters such as Reiko that is more than what they had before. Reiko is not just scheming for the throne now, but he is outright manipulating the throne from behind the scenes. In the next game, I want all of those vying for the throne trying to win Mileena over as opposed to just killing her and taking it.

If Mileena rules it is because she is the heir, which means killing her would effectively ruin your chances of taking her place. I'd like to see the Tarkatans take a stand in this sense. Instead of being blind followers, they rally behind the only Tarkatan who ever had a chance at the throne: Mileena. So, if Reiko comes along and kills her he will have an entire army to answer to. In order to get their way, those who want the throne will instead try to manipulate Mileena in her immaturity. They will 'raise' her, so to speak, try to shape her in their image and rule the realm with Mileena as the figurehead. Thing is, by manipulating her, she will believe that she is the one in control.

However, being a quick learner(everything about new Mileena suggests she is clever, not stupid), Mileena will become exactly like them. That is, a deceitful manipulator. At that point, she'll play along for a time before she turns their plans upside down and takes control of the realm for real.

There is more than one way that this can go, however, and that will be reflected in different character's endings. In Mileena's, she will succeed, while in Reiko's(or whoever), they will succeed. In story mode, I don't want to see either of them succeed. I would like to see whoever tries to manipulate Mileena be in competition with someone else trying to do the exact same thing. Mileena is conflicted by these two opposing advisers telling her what to do and in her still immature state, she will not handle it properly and will make a huge mistake. Her decision will devastate Outworld, and everyone fighting over the throne will suffer for it.

I like this... Hehehehe...

So, in conclusion, whether Mileena is fit to be a leader or not, there is still great story potential in making her Empress.

Oh man, I forgot to put the second possibility to that...

*Mileena learns that Reiko was working for Shinnok and kills him. Then the Brotherhood of Shadow invades Outworld (that's obviously gonna happen) and Shinnok leaves Quan Chi in charge of Outworld so he can focus on Earthrealm, Mileena's whereabouts being unknown to this point.
