Oh yeah, I should also mention that I'm REALLY happy that this movie FINALLY seems to be moving forward!!

As to what the article said about it being either wa sequel or a reboot, I'm really hoping for a reboot. Forget that the second movie ever happened and just concentrate on telling a great story, set in the universe of Mortal Kombat, regarding a fighting tournament that isn't what it seems... Feature the characters doing moves that they'd do in the games, make the fights hyper realistic in terms of a martial arts movie, but add in some great special effects for special moves.

More important than that, tell a good story! You don't need to shoehorn 70 MK characters in just so they all get face time. If you need to go back to a small, select few, then go for it. Just make it entertaining, fun to watch and high in quality. I do NOT want to see the next MK movie turn out to be something like that garbage Dead or Alive movie!!

I wish they had waiting until they had a good game story to base it on.

I mean, don't tell me they're gonna base it on MKD or MKA. And Deadly Alliance is too old.

Seriously, they should have waited until after MK9... unless the story and characters for MK9 are already complete and they're gonna base the movie on that. Then I'm okay with it.

Otherwise, seriously bad idea. Especially if it turns out to be a sequel. I mean... who the hell wants a sequel to Annihilation? I can't think of anyone in their right mind who would.

But if it's gonna be a reboot, what game's story will it revolve around?

I think a 3rd movie right now would way waaay too soon.

And they say it's gonna start filming in 2 months as if they already have the script. Seriously... what the hell is it gonna be based on? Cuz if it's based on one of the recent games, it will suck and flop. No doubt about it.
