Non-MK characters who could/couldnt exist in the MK universe

I don't mean characters who come from another dimension, like the DC characters in the crossover. With other dimensions/alternate realities, any characters from any series could crossover with MK. Even the looney tunes. No, what I'm talking about, are non-MK characters that could plausibly exist within the MK universe itself, without contradicting any core aspects of MK's story, and without needing much tweaking.

Who could exist in the MK universe (imo)

Spider-Man: His origin doesn't contradict anything about MK's story. It has nothing to do with gods, and the supernatural (at least the mainstream origin doesn't). He could plausibly have been involved in the fight against Shao Kahn's forces when they invaded Earth. Many of his foes could plausibly exist in the MK universe too, like Doc Ock, the Green Goblin, Venom and Carnage. Just Spider-Man and some of his rogues' gallery, not the entire Marvel universe.

The Alien and the Predators (from the appropriately named franchises): So easy to fit in. The Predators might be able to reach all the realms from space (if they are planets). If not, they could certainly use portals. As for the Aliens, they could be on any planets/realms not yet discovered by mankind. Given that there's still so little we know about the Aliens' origins, they could have been created through magic, if they were a part of the MK universe. There's a lot of other extraterrestrial/non-human beings from other series that could fit in MK, like the Thing, Sil (Species), the Critters, the Blob, the apes from the "Rises of the planet of the apes" remake, and of course the Engineers from Prometheus, which is related to the Alien franchise.

Who couldn't exist in the MK universe

Kratos: and the entirety of his world. The gods there are directly involved in the lives of human, while the elder gods avoid direct intervention as often as possible so not to draw the One Being's attention. Where would the Greek gods fit in MK's mythology, and why wouldn't the One Being be awakened by their presence? Successfully merging MK and GOW would take a great deal of effort, not the kind that likely would be made merely for a crossover of two series belonging to different companies, or guest appearances/cameos.

X-Men: The organization itself, not necessarily some of the individual characters. MK is filled with superhumans, and they don't seem to suffer from discrimination, from what we know so far. One of them is even a movie star, and two of them work for the military. So the X-Men organization's existence doesn't seem to be much of a necessity. I could see the more inhuman-looking X-Men like Nightcrawler being discriminated against, but the likes of Storm, Cyclops and Charles Xavier himself? Probably not in the MK universe.

Spawn: Heaven, Hell and the supernatural in general are fundamentally involved in his story, and they're all significantly different from MK's counterparts. Hell alone largely differs from MK's netherrealm, with it's seven spheres. Crossovers and guest appearances pretty much requires making the two universes alternate dimensions/realities, like the DC crossover, in order to work. Still, a few Spawn characters could plausibly exist in the MK universe, like Sam, Twitch, and Overtkill.

But that's exactly how it is in the Marvel Universe too, people love every other superhero like the Avengers and Fantastic Four, they only hate "mutants" (and Spider-Man, but that's only because the biggest newspaper in town is constantly accusing the poor guy of crimes). That part of the whole X-Men concept has never really made sense.

Also, in the MK universe, the regular population doesn't KNOW people have powers (or at least they didn't until the MK3 invasion, I suppose).

Johnny Cage is the only person who's ever used his powers in public, in that he actually does his green shit onscreen in movies, but everyone thinks it's stuntwork and special effects.

That said, the X-Men would be redundant because the White Lotus Society and Lin Kuei Clan are already kinda schools for training powered people to fight. Granted the WLS specializes in spiritual kung fu types and the Lin Kuei kidnap the kids they train and make them kill people for money when the training's done, but still, "school for mutants" is kinda covered.

I think Nariko from Heavenly Sword could fit in the MK universe. Her game talks about deities, but never specifies as to who or what they are. There's just enough there to where you could fit in some MK mythos. Except for the time difference.

What needs to happen is there should be recognisable guest characters that are well known in manga. This would entice Japan and Asia to go and buy MK. No more Freddy Kruger or little gimmicks. Some of the fighters in manga are warriors, Freddy Kruger is not a warrior.

This isn't really related, but making a separate thread would have been redundant. So, which backgrounds from other series/franchises would be great to fight in, in a MK game?

To me, the Overlook Hotel from the Shining would make an awesome stage, especially if it were multi-tiered. So many rooms and hallways, like the hallway with the balloons where Jack could hear music playing from a distance, the Goldroom, with all the classic music playing and the guests either watching the fight with delight or not even minding it, and Delbert Grady serving drinks, that you could bump into, making him drop his platter. The bathroom in room 237 could be a death trap, where the old woman forcibly grabs and kisses the unlucky victims, poisoning them, resulting in their health draining slowly.

In the hallway where Danny encountered the Grady twins, said twins' corpses could sometimes appear then disappear, like the yin/yang stage in MKD. Fighters walking or being knocked backwards could accidently trip on the corpses, and the axe used by Delbert could be picked up.

There could be two versions of the maze, a spring one, and a winter one. In the winter version, both fighters risk freezing to death. The temperature would pretty much replace the timer.

The Goldroom could also come in various versions, one that would be completely empty, save for Lloyd at the bar, staring blankly. There wouldn't even be any music playing, just the snowstorm from outside that could be faintly heard. A third version of it would be dark, and full of skeletons covered in dust and spider webs.

When the river of blood comes out of the elevator, the fighters would go on as if nothing is happening. If you disturb the dog while he's giving his master a good time, they'll stop their business, looking at the fighters as if to say "do you mind?".

Finally, when fatalities are applied, you would sometimes hear "great party, isn't it?" instead of "fatality".
