If it wasn't for video games bringing us together as a kommunity, would we be here discussing these issues in a civil manner?

To be fair, they aren't drawing a 1:1 connection between Mortal Kombat and wielding a gun. They seem to be making their argument on the back of normalized violence, desensitization and the experiential acceptance ingrained by an interactive medium.

You are right, though on that note, to the NRA, gun-violence is brought on by anything that isn't an actual gun. They blame the guy's mental health without knowing for sure if he really had that much of a mental issue or if he was just raised with a crazy mom (fun fact, the most recent school-shooter was HOME SCHOOLED and all the guns belonged to her, obtained legally), they blame the music he listened to, the games he played, the people he associated himself with... Never the fact that he had easy access to guns.
That same day, across the Pacific ocean, another guy slashed at least 20 kids with a knife before being stopped by police. Those Chinese students lived all because this guy used a knife instead of a gun. I'd love to see the NRA comment on that, but I imagine they'd just say, "crazy people will find ways to do crazy things." It's true; but arming them with weapons that cause more harm with minimal effort doesn't help.

It's funny how NBK and American Psycho are the films mentioned, when neither seeks to glorify violence and both are satirical films that employ violence as the storytelling device. I mean, does no one understand irony?
Violence in the media catching blame is nothing new, it's all an effort to redirect the attention from the gun lobby itself. IT'S NOT WORKING.

I find this pretty interesting: CA senator calls BS on NRA.
California senator Yee, who proposed a violent video game law, is calling BS on the NRA's response to the CT shooting. He said when he proposed the violent video game bill, the NRA was no where to support it, now all of a sudden because of the shooting they want to go and blame violent video games? He's calling BS and saying it's just a way for the NRA to avert blame and regulations for tighter gun control.
[edit]: Also pro gun advocates are petitioning the white house to deport British CNN host Piers Morgan who has argued for tougher gun laws since the CT shooting. Pro gun advocates want Piers Morgan deported. There saying because he's a foreigner he's trying to undermine the Bill of Rights by using his position as anew host to push for stricter gun laws.

I have Aspergers and I know the difference between right and wrong.
For example, I know that the NRA pushing for everyone to arm themselves because they're funded by gun manufacturers is wrong. And that any statement made by the NRA in relation to the sources of gun violence in America is wrong.
Aspergers is not like being psychotic.
It's like being Sheldon Cooper, without the laugh track.
Sorry, that just bugged me.

I completely agree, but that's the problem with this country. There's such a stigma against people who are different- whether it be an autism spectrum disorder or mental illness- that a lot of people don't get help for their disorder because they feel ashamed. Or sometimes they can't get the services they need despite their best efforts.

I don't think guns or games are to blame. The shooter is.... The mother of the shooter knew her son was sick and tried to get him emmited. But sadly the son knew about it and shot her and later decided to raid a elementry school and shoot innocent 5 year olds.
The one thing i hate about our country is that we like to play the blame game.
People who murder should be accountable for there crimes. Not games, not entertainment.

More so, should the people who allowed it to happen.
In many cases, people (usually the parents) sense an impending tragedy and do nothing to prevent it. I'm not completely what the case is here, but I am damn sure someone could have prevented it.
