idk its really close.....soldiers could be being ripped apart by the soulnado.

how did quan chi ressurect sindel if dead bodies dont contain souls. i guess he put a new one in her......maybe he did something like that to create the soulnado......

the amulet is supposed to enhance all your powers and make you really powerful, so i have a hard time seeing that quan couldnt learn shang sung soul steal even though it might time.........

Um... Quan Chi can resurrect the dead, even resurrect skeletal soldiers to fight for him, as shown in Armageddon's intro.

Well...the whole "how did he make the soulnado" argument has gone completely into "ignoring facts and logic and arguing just to argue" territory, so I give up. Believe what you want but it's still a bad retcon and how the soulnado was made makes no sense and is outside the abilities Quan Chi was established to have in the old timeline.

As for a few other questions...

The original timeline had an explanation for this. It said that when she committed suicide, Shao Kahn was there and stole her soul before it could escape to Heaven or Hell. Then, he gave it to Quan Chi and Shinnok and asked them for help tainting the soul with evil and bringing her back to life.

But since MK9 says she died on Earthrealm, that's not possible anymore.

It's probably just that since Quan rules Hell, he can bring back anyone whose soul is there, the same as he did with Scorpion and Noob Saibot. And her soul was probably in Hell because suicide is a major sin in some religions.

Are you kidding? Souls are where he gets his power from. The more the better.

I'm not arguing fo rthe sake of arguing, simply put you keep on saying that Quan Chi stole the souls of the soldiers when this is not visible, nt even at the famous 0:19 mark. The Soulnado was opened before the soldiers could die and they are consumed from the energy of the soulnado itself, that's explains the lack of dead bodies on the ground.
He opnened the Soulnado using a ritual and his Amulet, more or less the same way he did in MK DA.
I don't see any difference in it. In MK9 he needed 4 soldiers to sacrifice, not their soul

Nah, that wouldn't make sense either.

Quan Chi's only reason for working with Kahn is to GET more souls FOR Hell. Why would he ever give a whole tornado's worth TO Kahn?

And again, a soulnado that's pouring out of a portal like the one in DA would only stay the size of the portal, it wouldn't grow bigger and bigger and drain everyone on Earth like the one in MK9 was meant to do.

He did. That's how it worked for Smoke and Cyrax in the old timeline anyway. When they get their free will back, they get their soul back.
I'm not actually sure that automation takes away your soul in the MK9 version though, it's never actually mentioned and Sektor in particular has a lot more personality than a mindless programmed robot should have. It's possible though that he just altered his own programming so he'd still have free will and be able to kill the grandmaster and take over the Lin Kuei.
