Enter The Dragon (confirmed by the developers), Bloodsport (confirmed; JCVD's there), Big Trouble In Little China (confirmed; there is Raiden's cousin), the Star Wars saga ep. 1-6 (confirmed; Sidious seeks for eternal life like Shang Tsung) and Ghost Rider (see; Scorpion's Toasty! Fatality.)

1. Enter the Dragon (Correct Liu Kang was inspired on the legendary Bruce Lee, as the MK tournament itself on the movie's tournament being held on an island and everything)
2. Bloodsport (Correct Johnny Cage inspired on JCVD)
3. Big Trouble In Little China ( We all know that one, also Shang Tsung was inspired on the immortal sorcerer named Lo Pan)
4. Star Wars (Correct, also Shao Kahn was inspired on the evil emperor, as well as his helmet on Darth Vader's)
5. Woops! Sorry, the Ghost Rider movie doesn't count! Remember these are movies MK took inspiration from, not the other way around. Scorpion's Toasty Fatality has been around since the 1992 arcade game, way back before the Ghost Rider (2007) movie or it's sequel Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011)

American Ninja had a character named Curtis Jackson, if I recall correctly. his character inspired Jax, who was going to be called Kurtis Stryker in MK1, before he was cut (Stryker did appear later, so I guess that was also inspired by the film).

The Terminator had a big red cyborg eye. This was a major inspiration for Kano's design, I think.

5. American Ninja (Indeed this is another direct inspiration for MK, Jax and Stryker's concept were taken from here)

6. The Terminator Saga (Correct this is another movie franchise Boon & Co. Took some inspiration from such as: Kano's metal head plate & laser eye implant obviously taken from Arnold's T-800, Jax's Arms Blade Fatality inspired by the T-1000 in T2: Judgement Day and of course Scorpion's thumbs up farewell in MKSM right before he is taken underneath the molten lava by the undead skeletons)

Ok to help you guys out with another movie, I'm going to give out a clue here goes: In one of the 6 movies already mentioned, stars a famous actor who is the main protagonist for another famous movie that lead to the inspiration of 3 MK characters and 2 fatalities. Can you guess what movie this is?

The Five Deadly Venoms inspired the costumes of Sub Zero and Scorpion. Scorpion probably got his name from it too

Speaking of which, Sub Zero got his name from Arnie Schwarzenegger's The Running Man.

And continuing on with him, Predator was the inspiration for the design of the robot ninjas' heads and hairstyles (and Cyrax's self destruct fatality)

Wasn't Kung Lao's MKII avatar a rip off of Clint Eastwood's Dirty Harry? (the Deadpool also took its' name from another Eastwood film.)

The Ninja Turtles' Shredder was the inspiration for MKD Sub Zero's primary outfit

Cynthia Rothrock was the basis for Sonya Blade, so whatever early 90's movies she was in surely lent a hand

MKD's Kobra was a nod to the bully in the Karate Kid

7. Predator (Correct this is another of the movies that lead to the direct inspiration of Sektor, Cyrax & Smoke, as well as Cyrax's self destruct fatality and Sub-zero's infamous spine rip fatality)

Ok regarding the other movies I'm not quite sure, cause I've never heard or read the developers got inspiration from these movies. But I'll give you credit cause they do make sense. So congrats!!! You're up next in Test Your Knowledge.

Oh! before I forget, just for MK educational purposes only, another pair of movies that MK got inspiration from are: Indiana Jones and The Temple Of Doom (Kano's Heart Rip Fatality based on the moment when Mola Ram takes the heart out of a dude's chest with his bare hands to be offered in sacrifice) and Live and Let Die: 007 (Kitana's Kiss Of Death Fatality based on Kananga's death)

I don't think Kung Lao served as any kind of nod to Clint Eastwood. The developers have never made any mention of that.

His hat, though, was inspired by James Bond villain Oddjob.
