I'm new to posting, but I periodically browse these forums and see posters making voting contests to determine who is the best character, what character you most want to see return, etc, or giving others a choice between two or three characters as to who they hate more. Those threads always have a bunch of characters that people vote off immediately and they're never spoken about after that. I've decided to go a different route and find out who are truly the MOST hated characters in the MK Universe.

I came up with 4 brackets with a total of 64 entries (think NCAA tournament). The brackets are:

1) Good Division - 16 characters who are decidedly good in nature and have stayed that way throughout their storyline.
2) Evil Division - 16 of the most prominent evil characters
3) Old School Division - 16 characters created before the Next Gen era (MK-MK4) who didn't quite fit into the Good/Evil divisions or who play secondary roles in the MK mythology.
4) New School Division - 16 characters from the Next Gen games who meet this same criteria.

To make 4 brackets of 16 people, I had to do a little shuffling around. For example, I originally put Shujinko and Taven in the "New School" Division, but as I whittled down the character roster, the "Good" Division was coming up short. There are a few others who might be better suited for one division over another, but I had to make do.

If you include the entire roster of Armageddon, there are 62 Kombatants. I made it 63 by counting Khameleon/Chameleon as different entities. However, I did not include Meat b/c he has virtually no backstory (I mean seriously, at least Mokap has a bio) and his Armageddon ending was a blow-off that was clearly included only because every character had one. This left me back at 62, so I decided to consider Human Smoke/Cyborg Smoke as separate entries, and also Good Raiden/Dark Raiden. Each entry is seeded from 1-16 based a lot on my own preferences, but I also did take into account popular opinion as much as I could. For example, I don't like Kenshi much and find his story boring, but I know he's fairly popular so he got a very low seed in the "New School" Division. Having a high seed (1, 2, etc) is actually BAD, since we're voting for who we DON'T like!

I only took character stories/personalities into account in the seeding, not their moves, the coolness of their fatalities, etc. You are welcome to take those things into account when voting!

I'm going to kick this off with the "Good" Division matchups. Vote for each of these 8 pairings, and REMEMBER, you are voting for the character you DO NOT LIKE (or like less than the other). So if Scorpion and Sub-Zero are matched up, and you're a huge Sub-Zero fan, then you'd vote for Scorpion because you like Sub-Zero more.
