What the hell does that 2nd part of the 6th note for Liu Kang mean though? confused

I think it's a typo. What he must have meant to say was that the bicycle kick will connect no matter which hit of the attack frames hits.

I see, thanks for helping out! smile

Btw, how do you check which version of the game you're currently running on the PS3? I've read somewhere that you need to hold R1+R2+triangle, but that doesn't work for me. Maybe it's because I have a PAL version of the game.

@Tony, the Ermac situation is something that players rag on all the time, but to devs its always question of intention over viability. NRS obviously feels meterless 40-50s and comboing full strings into specials are not allowed, regardless of wether its a valuable tool or not.

It's a good point that developers do this. But I like to think they see the big picture, too, and not be too quick to nerf. I'd rather see them focus on buffing weak characters up to the top tier level do it the other way and try to nerf the top tier down. I'm all for nerfing things that obviously need it but I just didn't see it for Ermac. He struck me as solid but not overpowered.

As for the push vs lift, I'm no Ermac player so I'll bow to your expertise, but in my experience against him Ermacs more lethal at stryker / noob style full range than mid range. It just doesn't seem to me that with it being so short range and horrible on block, the teleslam isn't more than a combo novelty / punish only option like Mileena's ball. People been trying to shoe horn that into her play since release and its just not going to happen. The push just seems like a way better focus.

The problem with Ermac at full screen isn't so much that he's bad (because he's not) but because so many other characters are much better. Ermac can't win projectile wars, for instance. And his teleport isn't as good as some others (Smoke). And since both push and lift hit at mid-range, by being far away his damage potential is severely reduced.

The tough part is space control. Against Liu Kang, for example, Ermac needs to keep at mid-range. Far away, Liu wins fireball wars and he's so safe that teleporting is high risk. And up close he absolutely wrecks Ermac.

You can check your game's version number by going to the options screen and holding down the RB & RT buttons and hitting the Y button (on Xbox360) or holding down the R1 & R2 buttons and hitting the Triangle Button (on PS3).

Uh huh... Thats all good and fine... How about releasing a patch to enable playing custom music on the PS3 version, like they PROMISED the game would. Its still the biggest disappointment in the game by far.

Yeah, now I can't listen to "I'm a barbie girl" while jamming a blade threw the heart of my enemies.

But seriously, I made a whole playlist and everything!

Well, it does not work for me. Like I said, it could be because I have a PAL version of the game.

Tom Brady confirmed removal of the temporary reinstated bomb trap and smoke bomb OTG on classics Cyrax and Smoke :(

I wouldn't have minded so much the first time, but giving it to us, then taking it away, then giving it back, and finally taking it away again is such a tease. They should have just lowered the damage and kept it on the classic outfits to, kinda like a compromise. Smoke bomb OTG is just fun to pull, I wouldn't mind a giant damage nerf on it as long as I get to use it.

@Tony, again, I think the misunderstanding is that devs are looking at a bigger picture than players are. Players see a valuable tool that makes up for shortcomings in a characters game. Devs see a character doing things that violate their vision for the game. It has nothing to do with nerfing or viability, its just taking undesireables out of the game.

To devs, Ermac's meterless 50s are no different than Stryker getting punished for corner xray, Kabal's block infinite, Skarlet doing 4% more damage with her throw, or smoke's otg. They're all unintended glitches that violate their design.

Are you on xbl or ps3? or do you not play online? I'd love to spar with a non-zoning ermac.
