So... I finally have XBOX Live.

I got the Komplete Edition yesterday, had some fun.

But now I begin to notice a trend.

I have a few questions for those who are quite familiar with the online aspect of playing the game...

1. Is there anyway to find ranked matches with someone of equal skill, and not against people with 50000000 wins and like 2 defeats? I seem to be constantly matched up with people like this.

2. Is it normal for the same people who boast the highest win/loss ratio to back you into a corner and move spam you?

I feel like I'm back playing against my friends from childhood who'd just... do the same thing over and over again >.>

Matches are rather impossible to win that way.

Now that the game has been out a year most of those who still play consistently have a pretty strong win/loss record. The average skill of an opponent in ranked matches is much greater now than it was 6 months ago. This makes it hard for players like you who just got the Komplete Edition and have little experience.

Corner play is huge in this game and it is easy to lose most of your life bar when you get trapped there by a good player. Make sure to use your breaker to get yourself out or wake-up attacks with armor. Who are your mains? There are some really good players on this site (much better than me) who can probably give you some useful tips.

Back when the game launched (I sold it in preparation for Komplete Edition a couple months ago, then had no money to get komplete edition) and well before I had XBOX Live, I found myself doing the best on Kitana, Cyrax, and Ermac, so I've been somewhat rotating them.

As Kitana, against skilled players I /usually/ feel like I put up a fight, but there are some instances in which they flawless-victory me. It's hard to figure out a way to win that way let alone put up a fight.

Online seems fine for me over on the PS3. But then again, I never use the Player Match and Ranked Match options. Only the Select Room, where I can choose which lobby to join.

But......I haven't played Mortal Kombat 2011 online in several days. So I can't really say how the online is on the PS3 side.

Yeah I find to have less frustration in the room options. King of the Hill is fun.

Every now and then I find a ranked match in which I can have a good fight.

Does anyone ever deal with "trolls" in their online fighting?

The first one is the guy who immediately tries to be whoever you're being. I refuse to fight guys like that. I don't like mirror image in arcade, I don't do it in player vs. player.

The second is the guy who stays crouched all match long, and does only uppercut/shin kick/sweep.

... or Noob Saibot/Kenshi with their "throw stuff across the screen spam."

>Trolls
I don't think so.

>Kenshi.
Repeatedly using Kenshi's Tele-Flurry won't get 'em anywhere against me. If I'm comfortable with the fighter I'm using, I tend to be able to predict their Rising Karma and Spirit Ram. With Kenshi, you need to know how to play from far-range and how to handle yourself in close-kombat, otherwise Kenshi won't do you much good.

>Noob Saibot.
I do see these kinds of players using Noob Saibot more often. I like to use Noob Saibot in a manner similar to Kenshi, except it's the other way around. I tend to fight more in close-kombat than far. (Kenshi, I tend to fight far, but can do close) Shadow Slide and Charge for mixups in combos. Shadow Upknee to make a combo safe on block. Kind of like a mind-game pressure sort of way.
