Hi all. I was playing MK with a friend yesterday and found his Liu Kang to be really annoying. The main reason is because of the Fierce Tiger combo. Any move I do (even the fast front punch strikes) gets beaten by his combo and ofcourse, not only does he get the combo but he gets a pop up and punish me more with juggles. I've tried a few different combos to see if I can do something thats faster than it but there isn't one combo or strike that would beat it so he could spam it all day and I can't do anything about it :( so am I missing something or is Liu Kang a broken character?

I'm spit balling here, but I'm pretty sure those first two hits are high. WIth any character, you can crouch and press 1 (the low punch, not the uppercut) or use a well timed sweep.

Liu Kang has some lightning fast strings, and he's liable to beat you if you just try to out mash him up close. So either keep him out with projectiles or teleports, or just crouch jab until he lays off.

It slows the match down to a crawl, but either you'll graduate to free wins academy or he'll learn mashing isn't free and adapt a new strategy.

I just saw your name is Kung Lao, assuming thats who you use just block the string and use the spin, he'll walk right into it and you get a free combo. Really, Kung Lao has nothing to fear from spammers and mashers.

As soon as you block the last hit in the string hold down and start mashing uppercut or low jab or some other fast move, it should beat him out of it. You can get out of it, just keep trying.
