I have to honestly say that I do not want to be a large combo-player. It's just not my style. I do get destroyed by combo players much of the time, but I accept that for now. (It's always fun to beat them though - I frustrate the hell out of some scorpion players who rely on that teleport by anticipating it and low-kicking - then of course, I'm a newb who should learn how to play, even though I beat them).
It's just the style of play that I don't want to engage in. I don't really like the fact that you can get 1 hit in and the next 32 hits are free. I don't fault players who use combos and I admit they are better players than me. I don't complain when they beat me, either. I know what I'm getting myself into.
So, does that make me a scrub? Or am I just an average player who enjoys playing other average players?

Well nothing on the game as far as big combos are free. You have to earn them, practice them. And even when executing them they can still be broken.
If you lose and dont complain and dont mind it. I wouldnt call you a scrub.
A scrub is moreso someone who wants people to play their way, without trying to understand how others play. and then demand the game is changed in their play styles favor.
This thread i created is for all the scrubs on MKO who are raging about online issues other than lag.

Some characters are almost defenseless against Kung Lao, seriously, try fighting a kung Lao that does nothing but air kicks, low hats, teleports and spins and maybe that one combo that kicks you into the air USING SHANG TSUNG. He's to slow to get a normal hit or combo in and kun can teleport behind him when he goes for a fireball.
I really think that kung's spin should be like Baraka's spin.
And it's not about losing, it's because it's REEEAAAAALLY annoying. I've just as many Kung Laos as I've lost to. they ALL fight the same with minor differences.
That spin is like a giant middle middle finger, it's like a big spinning "fuck you" that sets up an easy +40% combo.

People complain that Kung Lao is cheap because his spin beats everything, or Raidens torpedo is to fast , ect but they forget that they are the ones jumping into the fucker everytime.
You have to learn to be patient. It doesnt matter how bad you want to attack, if you let go of block brfore a combo string ends your gonna get hit, there is no magic thing thats fonna make your punch beat theirs.
Learn to out smart your opponent, dont just rush after them mindlessly, because that is exactly why spam tactics work, you keep falling for it !
I use Sindel, and if I get distance you better believe im going to shoot fireballs from as many angles as I can to keep you there. i
Its not because I cant do big combos with her, its because there is less risk, and that is one of the tools that that character has.
Smokes teleport is the same way. If you knock me down, and I wake up telepot punch you and land it every time, its not spam ... Its you not being patient enough, or having the fore sight to wait and block so that you can counter it.
Winning is fun, so play to to win.

we can mostly all agree kung is a nuisance, but i dont think hes broken tier.
My way to sucess vs kung is this. To start the match i try and zone him out, But this alone wont work without being able to anticipate a dive kick or teleport. The low hats you should be able to duck block or jump counter. Lets say he stays away from teleporting keep up the zone so long as your winning that battle.
IF he teleports you have gotta i mean gotta land a duck uppercut and put on pressure right away, but since its kung bait him into a wakeup spin, either dash back or block it and continue the pressure. If you can see the spins coming and teleports he is beatable. But i would say in the hands of a very skilled player i will be the hardest fight of your life. But an average joe, will show you a pattern. DOes he wakeup spin often? does he like dive kicks? teleports? all three? im sure they will show you a pattern or habbit. and thats your time to make them pay and punish them with your best combo. Which in turn will lead them to thinking twice about spinning or dive kicking at random.
I try to never ever ever jump on kung unless i have guessed right and punished many of his spins because at that point hes sort of scared to spin and you can slip a jumping crossup in.
Kungs hard but keep trying, or switch to kung yourself. Find what his weakness is.

Your a scrub, because you are scared of me. Play the game or log the fuck off.

Are we the same person? All jokes aside, your article was a fun read. The notion is a minority-appealing one that represents "professional" class. I've always wondered what a professional gamer thinks of "game-breaking" exploits/characters/combinations but now I'm satisfied, at least for now.

Can you read? He has a cool attitude and say he enjoys playing other average players. You are (by all your own accounts) Tom Brady's daddy at this game so why would he want to play you?
For proof of how idiotic you are about this, see the thread some dude made calling out PenguinIceNinja.

Im just saying that Id like to play him, and Ive never claimed to be an awesome player. I might be slightly above average, and thats being generous. I post my W-L anytime that is relevant, and its not that great. I do not have monster stats.
I just want to play him. If you read the other thread youd see that I made it because I was not able to contact him in the PM System.
I get a little angry with people who decline challenges, and quit mid-match. My feeling is that if you dont want to play the game, log off the damn server so those of us who do want to play the game can play against each other. Why would you go online and then decline fights and quit in the middle of them? Its bullshit, you are tearing me apart MK.
