Hello, new on the forum.

I've been playing MK for years, kind of lost track after mk4 tho.

Anyhow, I play on Ps3 and use the standard controller, and combos with dashes are killing me. Is anyone else having problems with this? Would investing in the stick make it easier?

Any tips are greatly appreciated.

Hey there, and welcome to the forum! If you're having trouble dashing, I do not believe a fight stick will correct the issue. Most likely what is happening is your are either dashing late.

Are you familiar with buffering? You do this by entering a command before the animation for the current move is complete--by doing this, for certain moves, you will execute the move on the first available frame.

Try buffering your dashes right before the animation for the move before the dash ends, this should ensure that the dash comes out as quickly as possible.

Thanks for the response. I definitely understand buffering, I'm normally really decent at MK games... The dashes don't seem to buffer, i.e. I do a juggle into a dash, the dash doesn't register early, I have to wait until I've popped them up. By that time I'm having lots of trouble continuing the combo. Maybe I will catch on with practice but it's driving me nuts.

I'm having the same problem dude, dashing in to continue the combo can be a bitch in this game. But i figured out the problem I was having a lot of the time is that after the dash in I was doing the hits too early. For a lot of the characters (or at least the ones I've been using) you gotta wait a bit before doing the combo. Like after Ermac's teleslam (assuming it was done far enough away to warrant a dash in) you gotta delay like half a second before doing a BP BP or back FP for it to catch. You really have to know where the move your trying to do after the pop up hits and the timing has to be pretty dead on.

Sorry if i'm stating the obvious here, I'm a bit of a noob at this game. Hope it helps.
