sonya 62% damage military cancel combos! best sonya video ever

So I've discovered that you can still cancel out of military stance but only after F 2, F 2.
You can also do it after 3,4,1. We all though this was a useless launcher but this guy has been using it to go into the military stance jump dive kick cancel.
This guy does a jump punch then f 2 f 2 military stance jump cancel into dive kick following devastation.
I've seen him even do the military stance dive kick reset twice in one combo.
I main Sonya (boonaha on PSN) My BNBs usually do 38 to 42 percent damage but obviously I want to increase it.
I was just wondering if anyone had any tips on executing the cancel? its veyr hard and can only be done after f2 f2. im just wondering what buttons/arrows he's pressing to cancel out of the military stance so quickly to do the dive kick.
any tips?

As I've said in my PM reply to you, I've read a comment on YT from that Sonya player where he explains how he does it, I copy-pasted it:
"Well, after the MS, I do a jump cancel, instead of a dash cancel, by pressing up+forward twice, and then I do down+BK for the Dive Kick."
So, it seems you have to press up+forward twice, try it and let us know if it worked for you. I might try it myself later on tonight. I've been playing a bit with Sonya this summer, I might just be able to do it :p

btw this is my favorite BNB that i always do and it's pretty devastating online as it does 43 percent damage.

If you're from NTSC region then we cannot play online since I'm in PAL region (the PS3 version of the game is region locked sadly). I would love to play you and many others from MKO. So far I've only played against 3 persons from here.
Anyway, I went to the practice mode last night and tried it out. I was able to consistently jump cancel out of the military stance by pressing up+forward twice (simultaneously). However, I just wasn't able to do it quick enough in the middle of the combo.
That doesn't mean that it's not possible though. For example, I know REO is able to do Mileena's b+1, 4 twice in a row, I on the other hand couldn't do it. So, I'm obviously not the most skilled person out there lol.
You should keep trying, and also try posting a comment on that guy's YT video and see if he responds. He seems like a very cool person so I'm sure he would respond back.

Some of her MS attacks are mid and some are low, therefore they improve Sonya's mix-up game a lot since her normal strings are a bit lacking in the mix-up department. She does have mids and lows in her normal strings, but you can't really mix them up to create a 50-50 guessing situation for your opponent. That's where the MS helps a lot- you can cancel her normal string into MS (instead of a special move) and then immediately press one of the MS commands (I think if you press the throw button it hits mid and if you press f+1 it hits low, so if your opponent is trying to block they would have to guess and they have a 50% chance of guessing right).

A little bit haha. I can get into MS easy enough, and I lovvvvvve rattling off the one where she tackles them, smashes their face then kicks them in the nutsack/vajayjay... but I've just never been one to figure out how to employ it properly. But I'll try and give it a go.
In the same vein, I can never decipher the moves from combo vids on youtube... So few actually write out the inputs, and if they do, they're usually poorly written so I can't decipher f2, b3 or whatever from each other.
And I STILL haven't managed to work a jump-in-punch into a combo. Every time I land it, it doesn't input quick enough and she just stands there... or goes to uppercut...

Thank you but I'm already doing serious 50% damage combo strings using the military stance. For example this is an awesome BNB of mine.
Dive Kick, 2, 1, Kartwheel, Military Stance, Back 2, Back 2 1 Forward 2, 2,1, Enhanced Leg Grab this does like 44% damage
Another good one is the one where you nerf the first hit in 3,1,4... after the kick connects and stuns then you go into military stance and forward up forward up into dive kick followed by 2,1, Kartwheel, Dash In, 1, 1, Enhanced Leg Grab I believe this is my combo that does 50%
but the guy is able to do 72% damage using
Forward 2 Forward 2 Military Stance and then somehow he quickly cancels out of military stance fast enough to do a dive kick and combo from it as one large combo string.
I dont know how he does it so quickly. Because I can't seem to do it.

However, I don't like doing enhanced moves in combos to increase the total damage by 3-4%. I prefer to save the meter for breakers and in Sonya's case for the enhanced version of her arc kick as that one has armor and is her best tool to get around the barrage of projectiles some characters are able to throw out. She can do 35%+ damage combos with no meter anyway and that's pretty good!
I saw a player (Riu48) today on ValleyStreamMonsters use her, he was doing really well. I wasn't able to finish watching the recorded footage, but will do it tomorrow. Who knows, maybe he ended up winning. He was also using her 1, 1, 2 string (I think that's the one) to finish off combos as it creates reset situations. He even used her kiss successfully to create resets too!
