Standard Tournament in progress/ UPDATE: Round 3 matches done by Mar. 12th(PS3 side) and Round 4 matches Mar. 15th for Xbox + rules update

Edit: totheark has taken full control of all future tournaments. OFFICIAL RULES (for both systems)

First Tournament: Open format (pick whomever you choose).

1. Standard matches are best 2 out of 3; winners and losers finals are best 3 out of 5.

2. For this tournament all codes that alter gameplay in significant ways are banned ( Acceptible codes include:classic music, no blood, disable foreground objects, and tournament mode).

3. Kratos is banned.

4. Kratos stage is banned because it shakes.

5. Contact either myself or totheark if you decide to withdraw from the tournament, consideration is important, not just for us but for all the players involved.

6. Report all disputes, results, questions, or concerns to either myself or totheark.

7. HAVE FUN and be a good sport. It's the most important part of the game.

8. Rules are subject change.

9. Deadlines for matches will be a week for all matches from the day of tournament confirmation, this is to insure a timely progression of tournaments and out of cosideration for all parties involved. If neither party gets back to either myself or totheark, we will randomly choose a winner and loser that will advance or go to loser's bracket.

10. Once the tournament gets dwon to 4 players per system, the dealine for matches will shift to 5 days to complete matches.

Eight is the number I'm shooting for to host this tournament, more are welcome of course.

Wonderful initiative!
I haven't played any games for months so I would like to restore my skills a bit before participating. Although it's nothing too serious I'm sure. When is this going to happen then - the next month or simply during the spring?

We'll start 2 days after we get the required amount of participants and Xbox360 onine isn't region locked right?

So it's contingent upon community response.

I'm not sure I'll be participating in any tournament, for I am terrible at playing at a certain date. Life gets in my way, so it causes the date of time I play be erratic.

You don't have a specific time to play, you fight your opponent when you're both ready there is no set in stone time you have to play.

Thanks totheark, that's helpful. I will compile a list in the OP soon.

As for your question, themed tournaments could consist of :

NIght of the Living dead- using the zombie code throughout tournaments

You and I- tag team tournament.

Who is this? Getting a lottery drawn character at random that you compete with throughout the whole tournament.

Ladies night- using all female characters.

Other themes are optional and I am open to any and all suggestions.

The first one will be a standard tournament though and we will only have a themed tourney if majority support it. I suspect things like Night of the living dead will get universal approval since it doesn't really effect the game or characters chosen.

Check out the OP for further details on the job description. If there's enough support for one system and the other doesn't get enough, we will still host the tournament on the system with support, so no worries ladies and gents

As for the bracket, are we looking at randomly generated match-ups? Best 2 out of 3? Double elimination?

Double elimination is a definite for the set up and most likely it will be best 2 out of 3 with Winners and losers finals being best 3 out of 5.
