Quick thought for the next tournament. We should probably ween out the people who never responded to the other contestants for their matches. Unless they are going to be able to participate the next time. It might require us to get some more people though. Just a thought.

Great games indeed, man. I don't even feel good about that victory, because in the after casuals, you bodied me, lol. I'm amazed your able to do that nomad cancel pressure online. Really makes me want to pick up Kabal. Your Cage is really solid as well. I'm going to have to reverse engineer that character, because I'm not sure what my poke options are once Cage gets in. I have to have an answer to that before I go to Texas Showdown.

Haha dude, it's all good man lmao. You played great and overcame me. It was really fun though, helped me understand the Smoke matchup a little better. Awesome corner combos btw, they were fucking nuts.

Also, when Cage is going to do F33 ex forceballs duck and low poke. Always block high when you think he is going to do the F33 b3 because it pushes cage back and he can't continue the pressure unless you don't do anything about it. You played awesome against my Kabal.

I can do the pressure online, but it's really difficult and I end up looking like a pile of trash lol. I played actually very well against you, even one match I got the f4 ndc 2 ndc 2 f4 to work. That is VERY hard to do online. I'm telling you that straight up. I'm glad to finally show off my Kabal, and atleast a few people on this website know what i'm made of. Hopefully at this tournament i'm going to in May i pull a Sonic Fox lol.

We can't even pull off Grand Finals in three weeks.

The thing is, even though this event brought in some new users, they all dropped out within the first two rounds.
Making another thread would probably grab more attention, but I have a feeling they'll all drop out like they did in this one.

As far as my Tourney moderation goes, it will be put on hold until I feel there's a balance between new players and match dedication.

Not sure what exactly went on with this tournament, or if was a giant pain in the ass for you to try and set up (MKO is not a gameplay heavy site and most users would rather discuss Kitana's hair after all so i'd certainly understand if thats the case). But i think u should just go for it and a hold another tourney and just keep strict schedules. Its a little dinky online tourny and if people are really too busy to set aside time for 2 or 3 matches and fail to get them done in time then fuck 'em. Who's ever obviously the one trying to schedule it or is more active in this thread wins and if they're both no shows just flip a coin and move on. Not saying people not having time to play or coordinate schedules is a bad thing, i understand life gets in the way of things like this, just that it should be expected to be common and dealt with quickly. (no idea how you handled it or if its even the problem tho)

Also, like many, many players i run into online a lot of people just don't give a shit about learning how to play this game and our matches consist of me practicing combo's and them sending hate mail. I use to go easy on them, or let em win rounds, or send them tips but for the most part i really don't give a shit anymore. People like them should be discouraged from playing the same way a person with down syndrome should be discouraged from becoming a surgeon. There will always be a divide between skilled and unskilled players, its up to the individuals to bridge that divide and find enjoyment in doing so, not the tourny's they are in. The online MK community is bitter and dumb as fuck and you really gotta lower your expectations for them. However i feel like the amount of skilled players who put a lot of time into this game is only going to decrease over time as this game gets older and older. I think to hold off a tourney until later would just make it harder to set up, but I realize you would probably know much more than me about that.

Anyway this is just my .02 cents and like i mentioned above i really don't know what went on with this tournament so if im talking out of my ass or saying the obvious feel free to ignore or correct me.

I think if nothing else, I'd at least like to thank everyone who put the time and effort in to participate. I've said it to Espio and totheark privately, but everyone should know that it's good for the community -- particularly the true believers still here, looking for this stuff -- to be able to know there are still other people interested. I'm pleased to see you guys making the effort and would like to think the future has some interesting possibilities. I think it's time to retire the Kitana Hair cliche, accept that there are a lot of interesting ways to enjoy MK, and recognise the potential for the unified and repurposed Gameplay & Matchmaking forum to support a focused interest in the play element.

I hope, even if it's small, you can move forward without becoming too discouraged. The site's in a slightly different place to where it was a couple months ago, and hopefully we can all expect to see some growth, starting with you guys right here.

There are only us few that really care about the gameplay of this game. I doubt w'eel even get 5 people to participate against STB. I really would like to see this site grow as Mick said above. I'm looking forward to the future. Honestly. Can't wait.

I agree with Spaceman, you should try to host small tourneys and hopefully more people will be involved. Good shit. Even if it us just us, a little small community in the gameplay forum it can work. Even though I really do appreciate Espio and what he's done, we shouldn't take that route and continue to work on this forum. It can be changed eventually. With us starting it, it can all evolve.
