We are playing MK games on MAME, and there is a plug-in called Kaillera that enables netplay, therefore playing MK online.

I played Trilogy_ny today, and although he is new to kailerra he wasn't bad at all. He is raw, but if he keeps playing online he will get better. And if you read this tny, seeing as how ur best player is Scorp - u should really try to get good with Human Smoke. He is the 2nd best fighter in the game, and is a jacked-up version of Scorpion.

Also, I've been playing a guy named thrower a lot recently and he always pwns me... He is a very good umk3 player, one of the best I've seen - then again, there are lots of solid umk3 players on kailerra.

Thrower is very good, as is Moe...but they are both from Chicago so they are inherently cocky lol

Yeah we had some great matches! Yeah I'm new and still green but won't be for too long. Anyways I don't know the code for human smoke. And yeah I fought this this "thrower" and he is tough. My bad I left in the middle of the fight krsx66 but I gues my pc couldn't handle UMK 3 since it restarted for no reason.

Don't worry about leaving mid fight, I dont even remember that happening

And the code for H Smoke is:

Select Robot Smoke, then before the fight starts hold Left+HP+HK+BLK+RN if you are player 1

or Right+HP+HK+BLK+RN if your playing as player two.

I've noticed that most player's have MAME release 64, and I have 67, should I switch? I've been getting out of sync a lot.

Where can I find version .64? I think I have .67.. Whichever one I downloaded off of Kaillera's website. I have playing Deception on XB Live but would much rather be playing the older games. Is everyone here on the same Kaillera Server? I noticed the IP on page one or so.

Does anyone remember the issue of Gamepro (when MK2 came out) where in the letters section someone wrote to them and had found a bunch of hidden stuff in MK2 by dumping the Roms? Stuff like "noob saibot wins" character profiles? That was a friend of mine who did that. He actually works for midway now. His name is Kevin Day. Him and his Wife Rosalind Dugas are actually in the credits for Most of the console versions of MK2 up..

I look forward to playing some of you guys online.. I miss the old days! We actually had to travel from Norfolk, NE to Omaha, NE to get people to play us. No one in my home town would play me! I'm probably quite rusty but I can't wait to bust out my X-Arcade and get in some classic MK gaming.

Also, did I hear a Guilty Gear X2 machine in the background? It's the greatest arcade in the world if it has UMK3 and GGX2.

Way to represent the X-Arcade! That's what I use whenever I play. Just don't mention it around Shoryuken.com or some snobby forum like that, because the people who take things too seriously will spout "Hori" this and "Mas" that and attack you with their joysticky nerd rays. But buck the naysayers... I use the stick with MAME all the time, and I got the Dreamcast, PS2, and XboX adapters. This thing is a friggin' beast!

is there a way to play mk classic matches online? id love to know how, is it on xbox or on the computer, i know street fighter hasa version online on the computer, but i like playin on my big screen tv , not some silly monitor and keyboard

Yes, its possible. On your PC. With an emulator called MAME, the correct ROM images from the arcade board, and Kaillera.
