So after failing to find local and smaller tournaments around my area in Southern California for MKX, I decided to go big. I have nothing to lose and it will be one EPIC experience.

My best friend and I said, screw it, let's hit VEGAS this July for Evo 2015.

Is anyone else going?!

Question to any EVO veterans on here:

EVO banned wireless controllers from the tournament. Where the hell can I find a wired controller for the PS4?

Hello, I am also in SoCal and will be attending evo this year.

Depending on where you are at though, SoCal Regionals 2015 May 1-3 will have MKX. Location is in Orange, CA and registration opens the first week of April.
Tournament of Champions by UGC will be May 10th.
UGC is in Panorama City, CA (A little north of LA) registration is currently open.

Also once Super Arcade opens their new location in Azusa they will be holding weekly MKX tournaments alongside USF4 on their Wednesday Night Fights circuit. For more info on this can be on their Twitter.

As far as controllers for Evo. As of right now approved controllers are subject but not limited to, PS4 dualshock 4 (battery pack must be removed and usb wired to console) Hori Fighting Commander 4, Mortal Kombat X pad by PDP (releases on April 1st), Wired arcade sticks and "hitboxes" are allowed.

There has also been a debate about adapters such as the Cronus Max, I would email Evo's "ask us" email for more info on those or specific controller/s you may have in mind.

Hope this helps.

Man this was very helpful! glasses

Thank you very much I appreciate it.

This is the type of information that I was looking for. I have never participated in any official tournaments but definitely feel that I have the capacity and confidence to do well in these MK tournaments.

Again, thank you so much my friend. Good luck at Evo!!!

I'm not going to EVO this year but I lived in Vegas for 3 years and went twice and competed last year in Mortal Kombat, Injustice, and Killer Instinct. All I have to say is that you're going to have a blast man!!! I had a lot of fun and the atmosphere is incredible, everyone there has a few things in common: Video Games, and Fighting Games.

Last year when I was competing in Injustice, my main was Scorpion and I was sparring against this Nightwing player and it so happened to be that Ed Boon himself was standing behind me watching me play, I freaked out!!! He told me it was shocking to see a Scorpion player in Injustice and that I was pretty good with him too. That made my day man! Talked to him about MKX for a bit then got a picture and it was just an all around great experience. Even if I got my butt handed to by Perfect Legend.

Enjoy it!!! It's a once in a lifetime experience if you really don't go to these types of tournaments!!!! :) Made some good friends there too!

NO WAY! That's such an honor as a MK hardcore fan to not only meet Ed Boon, but to also get complemented by him! Great job man that's quite a story to tell.

I am super excited for MKX at EVO15! Not going to lie though, I feel a bit nervous about it so I want to participate in other smaller tournaments to get some tournament practice.

I have been looking at the tournaments my buddy NerveDamage suggested, and will probably participate in at least one of them.

How is the competition at EVO? I'm sure it's very competitive but are the lower pools as competitive as the final 8 or pretty close?

As soon as I get the game I will practice as much as my busy life permits me, so I can kick some butt at EVO glasses

You're welcome, I will be attending the above mentioned tournaments so if you have any questions about registration let me know.

Also I will be playing on ps4 and live in Orange county so if you wanna play online or on LAN let me know and we can run some sets.

Are you attending all the tournaments you mentioned? I'm strongly considering going to the tournament of champions in Panorama City, it sounds legit and very fun. It cost $20 to join so that's not what's holding me back from registering. What's holding me back is the fact that they haven't added MKX to the list of games *with a description of how it will be broken down. It says "coming soon" so I'm just waiting on that.

I live in Corona, California which is pretty close to Orange County. So playing live on LAN sounds very good. My internet is not the best so I think that I will mainly play live. Regardless, my PSN ID is elpiri91, add me my friend.
