Kung Lao, I don't really like Mileena that much.

Kung Lao was so freakin cool when I first saw him in MK2. In MKX though, he seemed to have zero purpose. He honestly didn't need to be a roster character at all.

I honestly can't look at him now, after so many games of him being Liu Kang's side kick and not think "what a waste." He could've broken out in MKDA and been the new hero. Instead, we got zombie Liu, Armageddon, a reboot and now he's just one of those dead guys.

Few characters have been so thoroughly assassinated by NRS as Kung Lao has been. The need to take this character back to the shop and rework him from story to personality.

Mileena's story in MKX, regardless of logic issues, is easily enough for her to get my vote this round.

Kung Jin cleansing Kung Lao's soul using shaolin magic needs to be canon, then Kung Lao can be free to become a lone warrior, fighting the good fight to atone for the sins commited under Quan Chi's control.

In want people to be in trouble, then a hat slices throught a bunch of bad guys, and when they look up they see a man, face hidden by a shining hat.

Anyway, I voted Mileena simply because she's way more important in MKX and her fatalities are sick. The second one is... brutal.

Mileena duh. She was very important to the story in MKX and has come a long way for her MK2 debut. There she was just a pallet swap and a lesser version of her sister and I still loved her. Now she has climbed all the way up to being empress of Outworld and I sure as hell still love her.

Kung Lao is the opposite to me. He started of as a sidekick and he still is one. Kinda like Jax. Although he has become less cool as the years passed. I still wonder why they decided to include him in MKX...

With the series now a popular tournament game, you just can't remove the mains of the guys who helped take the franchise to the next level.

This isn't Tekken and Perfect Legends glory days are behind him so there's no need to cater specifically to pl and the others

Not to mention that while he's still high up in tournies he doesn't get as many wins and overshadow the other characters like he used to.

It's time for Kung Lao to take a break and have a nice relaxing vacation from MK...stuck in hell.

It's not just PerfectLegend. F0xyGrampa, arguably Europe's best MK player is also a Kung Lao player, he just won an ESL event playing as Kung Lao. Then there's also ForeverKing, another great MK player who mostly plays Kung Lao. He started MKX with Kung Jin, but played as Kung Lao in the last tournament or two. Even Tom Brady, in his diva moments, mained Kung Lao for a while in MK2011.

I have a feeling like the strong tourney presence was a factor when they decided to bring KL back, and I'm glad if that was the case. After all, KL will forever remain in history as the very first Evo-winning MK character and nowadays NRS pays great attention to the tourney scene, so surely they had taken that into account. If for nothing, at least for that KL deserved to be in this game (He was the Evo-winning character again next year, 2012. The feat is even greater considering the fact that Kabal, Cyrax, Sonya and Kenshi are all considered higher on tier list by most of the tourney players).

Anyway, I really like both these characters, also in MKX. I generally prefer Kung Lao though, so I voted for him. I didn't want him to have a quarrel with me.

But Mileena is great in MKX. I just hate it she was matched against D'Vorah and KL, both of whom I slightly prefer. Fu*king Tasia got a vote from me lol.

Obviously voted Reptile last round. Although, I don't see why people are giving Scorpion a hard time for his "hand in resurrecting Shinnok". Quan Chi would have done it anyways. The worst he did was condemn the revenants to being...well, revenants. But as Kung Jin's ending proved, there are ways around that.

Went with Mileena for this matchup. As many have said, Kung Lao's presence is utterly pointless. To me, he plays totally different in MKX than MK9. Which isn't a bad thing, but it makes me ponder how the tournament scene argument is relevant.

As for Mileena, this is the best she has ever looked and the best she has ever played. One of my mains. Also, every one of her costumes were a home run so applause to NRS for that. Her little scene on the rooftop with Kotal, Rain and the Tarkatans is one of my favorites in story mode as well.

I am going with Mileena. It is weird, I was never a big fan of her in the past games. I did not hate her, just not my favorite. I always was a fan of Kung Lao, but MKX completely ruined him for me. He is completely pointless in MKX. Tanya, Rain, Sindel, Li Mei and Fujin all were more important in MKX. I never want to see Kung Lao again tbh, MKX ruined him.

Cyrax's whereabouts is something that needs to be answererd. Actually, whatever happened to Cyrax, Jade and Sheeva needs to be explained. Cyrax wasn't sure about the Cyber Initiative. He could have been made Special Forces too after helping rebuild Earthrealm. That would have been a nice fit with the old timeline.

You know what? That's my headcanon now. We didn't see Cyrax during the first chapter because he was helping the ground troops. 25 years later, he was sent in a recon mission in the Chaosrealm to see if Havik or anybody else was planning something, and he was there during Shinnok's return.

Mileena. make Sub's chapter about taking down Sektor. Cage goes with and fights Cyrax and beats him. Then as opposed to killing him he spare him, like Cyrax did in the tournament and be the initiator in reclaiming Cyrax's higher functions. Plus Cyrax's human costume was easily my favorite in Mk9. If there's an issue with roster diversity I much rather would've preferred human Cyrax as the black male character to Jax.

Kung Lao. Though, I definitely suspect he's going to lose this judging from the amount of Mileena fans there are out there.

I voted for Kung Lao, mainly because I hate Mileena. Fuck her. I'm glad she was killed by D'Vorah in MKX.

I voted Mileena although she is one of the most stupid characters in the series, who is even getting played by her own allies nevermind foes. Only Baraka seems to be loyal. I was not surprised she died. At least Mileena has a semi-prominent role in the story in the first half.

Kung Lao's appearence in MKX seemed rather obsolete story wise. I do not know why NRS gave him an important reveal considering he is irrelevent to the game. Even worst Mileena, who was important, got no fanfare at all except a cameo in a trailer about the new generation. He makes no impact at all and he does nothing except get beat by Jax and Raiden. Pointless just like with Kitana although mercifully does not have her petulent attitude.

Now that Mileena's dead, they can make room for post-MK3 characters in the next game, such as Fujin, Reiko, Havik, and Kai, to name a few. But they should keep the dead characters out of the roster next time around. I mean, what was the point of bringing Kung Lao, Liu Kang, and Kitana into the roster, since they died in MK9? Jax and (of course!) Sub-Zero I can let slide since they got revived at one point in the story mode. In my opinion, they should of included Fujin, Havik, and Reiko instead of Kung Lao, Liu Kang, and Kitana.

I'm kinda going with Mileena by default, but that doesn't mean she doesn't deserve it. This is the best she has looked since Deception, and while I really liked how she played in MK9, MKX really nailed her fighting style, even if she requires a little more work to be as effective as some other characters. And frankly, story mode was a tad on the unmemorable side after her final scene... The story may have even benefited if it had been scaled down and only focused on the Mileena/Kotal struggle instead of shoehorning in Quan Chi and Shinnok out of obligation.
