I like both, but I know people are going to be voting against Scorpion just because he's Scorpion so I am going with him lol

Don't particularly care for either character, but I guess I'll go for Shinnok mainly for his pimp slap X-Ray.

As much as I love Shinnok, Jade gets my vote. On the other hand, I'm surprised that Havik won. I'm actually happy about that.

Wow so Havik beats Scorpion, but Sub Zero beats Kabal? Strange. It always seems like there's this idea that Scorpion can't do well because he's the face of the franchise and NRS and Boon love him so much, but Sub Zero's right behind him; he got his own game, he's on the cover of MKXL, he's been in every MK game I can think of, where Scorpion missed MK3, yet I never get that "vote him out early" vibe where it comes to Sub Zero.

Now don't get me wrong, I know there are other factors in play here, like story value, personal preference, etc. But while Scorpion made the idiotic decision to say "screw all those dead heroes, I want to kill Quan Chi," it's not like Sub's had an awesome go if it in the new timeline either. Gets automated and then the weird story gymnastics to undo that one game later, then getting relegated to a support character in MKX?

I guess it's just personal preference then. Personally, I think Kabal was by far the best thing to come out of that spandex-fest known as MK3. Meanwhile Havik, while looking cool, has some of the most ridiculous looking moves of any character in this franchise and he's been in all of two games. Also, his story is basically that he's a wild card. That's it. Sure, the idea is cool and he has tons of unrealized potential, especially if we're counting the comic, but even then...

Sorry, I really don't mean to sound like sour grapes. Not at all! People vote their opinions and I have no horse in this race. I just enjoy voting and seeing how it all shakes out. I just hadn't checked the results in a few days and was a bit surprised. Seems like every year now, Scorpion goes out early, but Sub goes really far and that's always kind of confused me a bit, especially these days.

Shinnok all the way. MKX did an amazing job at making him relevant, and a great boss character.

Jade has always been lame.

As my second favorite villain (or boss, if you prefer) of the series, definitely going with Shinnok.

The team did an EXCELLENT job designing him for MKX. Nailed a fantastic personality for him, programmed outstandingly fun gameplay, and his design is also top notch.

Shinnok all the way! Unless Jade gets some Edenian magical edge from the mysterious weapon or is given a mystical weapon by another powerful Edenian like Taven to wound a god, Jade doesn't stand a chance against Shinnok.

Takeda vs Havik...Yea Takeda doesn't stand a chance. We saw how he got screwed numerous times by the cleric in the comics lol.

I've always liked Shinnok ever since MK4. Armageddon made me love him, and MKX solidified the love. He's a badass. Voting Shinnok.

Yeah. Don't get me wrong, I love Shinnok and all, but Jade definitely deserves to win. Screw the haters.

Shinnok

I've tried to like Jade for a really long time, I really have, especially since she was a secret character which is always cool, but she's so . . . boring . . . I'm sorry, but she's just Kitana's friend, and does stuff for Kitana or Sindel, and Kitana's kind of boring, too. So far as a character she just doesn't stand up on her own. She has no actual backstory, really, and the fact that I don't even care to know it just shows for me that she's got no use. How would she play a role moving forward, even if the next game was MKD?

Shinnok is/was a boss character. He had a whole story revolve around him. He was an Elder God. He tried to take over Earth. He's not my favorite character in the game but . . . Jade could have never existed and the entire story line of Mortal Kombat would have stayed the same.

Mileena.

Hotaru doesn't really have any memorable qualities (design wise, at least.)

Hotaru's design is fantastic in my opinion. And the model/texture itself is one of the best ones from that generation of games (I've extracted them and looked)

But then again I could go on about Hotaru and never stop. I've been playing MK for over 20 years and he's my favorite character.

Let me just put it this way:

MK has, like, what, 9 ninjas? (Mileena being one of them?)

Now don't get me wrong, Mileena is a klassic and I like her a lot (though what happened to her in MK2011 just ruined her entire story and most of what made her interesting) but . . .

Is it 9 ninjas? 10 ninjas? 12 ninjas? I'll take the Samurai.

Ooh, tough call, I like both. Mileena's the site theme I've used forever. Love her X design.

I love Kabal to bits. He is my all-time favorite character in this or probably any video game. But for ridiculous moves in the MK world, NOTHING beats his "Nomad's Touch" from Deception. A tractor beam that slams him face first into his opponent so they BOTH fall over? WOW, was the dev team out of ideas. "Gee, I wear a delicate respiratory mask that keeps me alive; how about I voluntarily plant my puss into random objects at high speeds?" Again: love Kabal, used that move once in MK:D. Once.

I also enjoy Havik and the comic book series. Seeing Havik as part of the grand scheme brought me some closure over the fact that I always felt that HE should have been the main bad guy in Armageddon. The set-up was there: he wants disorder, he gets the Dragon King's heart and eats it for its ressurecting properties, he revives everyone that ever died, he empties the Netherrealm, and the Elder Gods have to step in before the fabric of the universe collapses. Boom: Chaos. Instead we get some goofy prophecy involving a pyramid and a fire beast, and the protagonist keeps repeating "I don't know what you're talking about!" and "I don't know what you mean!" to everyone he meets.

That, and the notion that characters who HAVEN'T been in an MK game for a while never actually died in any of these MORTAL contests, they were just recuperating from their mortal injuries all this time. I'm looking at you, Jarek.

Voted Mileena. She's been a favourite of mine since MKII and she keeps getting better. For MKX i don't really like her etherial variation, but just love the other two, and the costumes are the best they've ever been (with perhaps the exception of MKD primary). Hotaru hasn't been relevant in a decade. If he's had some presence in the comics maybe he would deserve more votes.
