TOURNAMENT BATTLE - ROUND 1:
Mileena versus Sindel
#13 Supreme Ranking #37
9 wins 5 losses Record 2 wins 5 losses
Semis (2015) Best Result Round 2 (2012)

Mileena was one half of a new era of feminine kombat introduced to MKII! A literal and fictional clone, she stood apart as the sai-wielding wicked counterpart to Kitana. A purple veil hid the telltale signs of her hybrid Edenian-Tarkatan DNA, fuelling a rivalry with her "sister" through MK Gold and Deception. When the timeline was rebooted, the creation of Mileena produced a more savage, juvenile mind with the body of a deadly trained assassin. When Shao Kahn was destroyed for his invasion of Earthrealm, Mileena survived The Emperor after her turncoat sister was killed. In MKX, Mileena fulfilled a dark destiny as heir to the Outworld throne, briefly serving as Empress while locked in a civil war with Kotal Kahn. The conflict ultimately cost her life, consumed by the insect horde of D'Vorah, but there was more than one clone created in the Flesh Pits. Mileena may rise again.

Sindel was a vital player in the invasion of MK3. Forcibly taken by Shao Kahn when he conquered the realm of Edenia, Sindel chose self-inflicted death over ruling by his side. In doing so, she allowed herself to be a resurrected pawn in a deadly game. She was ultimately restored to life, reigning in Edenia when The Dragon King returned with her daughter his slave. Edenia would again be ravaged by kombat in the saga of Armageddon, leading a new timeline that doomed Sindel to repeat her tragic life and death. Deadlier than ever before, she destroyed Earthrealm's warriors! In MKX, she remained a revenant under Quan Chi's control.

Trapped in a cycle of life and death, they influence the course of Mortal Kombat in either state! With royal blood in their veins, they have ruled over realms -- and condemned them! Who will reign supreme? Choose their destiny! FIGHT!

Ugh ive missed quite a few matches, including my girl Sareena sad.

Would have voted

Kano
Reptile
Sareena
Smoke
Khameleon
Motaro
Blaze

This time im going with Sindel. I have always loved the character since MK3, especially like her scream and hair tricks. I would have loved to see what they did for variations for her in MKX.
Mileena to me was always a bit dull and boring, but I liked her more in MKX and her design was pretty good too. It will be interesting to see if another Mileena clone pops up or if she will just be resurrected again.

Both Sindel and Mileena are my top female MK characters. However I like Mileena more but that scene in MK9 where Sindel killed a lot of the MK heroes in one scene was epic AF!

Mileena.

She finally came into her own in MKX after the shit character development of MK9 that led to Sindel's implausible bumping off of half the cast.

TOURNAMENT BATTLE - ROUND 1:
Kintaro versus Baraka
#43 Supreme Ranking #30
2 wins 5 losses Record 3 wins 5 losses
Round 2 (2012) Best Result Round 2 (2014)

Kintaro stepped into the koliseum in MKII, putting a new face on the Shokan race as the bigger, meaner successor to Goro. It was a tough act to follow, but the tiger-striped warrior upped the ante in almost all respects. He joined Goro as a playable novelty in MK Trilogy, and memorably teamed with the Prince in spin-off Shaolin Monks. Armageddon brought Kintaro back from absence with a roar, but it was the rebooted timeline that restored Kintaro to sub-boss glory! We learned of the innate ferocity that earned him special favor above the Tigrar Shokan! An aversion to water seemingly cost him his life in the MKX comics, killed in battle with the surprisingly calculated chaos cleric Havik.

Baraka first drew his iconic arm blades in MKII, putting a fanged face to the deadly savagery of Outworld's bizarre inhabitants! The Tarkatan demon-mutant sliced and diced his way through competition like noone in the original game! MK Trilogy and MK Gold restored Baraka's presence to new installments, stapling him together after a run-in with Kung Lao! Throughout his many incarnations, Baraka led the mutant horde in service of Shao Kahn, Quan Chi, and The Dragon King - an enforcer with a blade one side away from turning on his masters. In the reboot timeline, Baraka again ravaged the Earthrealm and its warriors in The Emperor's name. When Kahn was defeated, Baraka pledged loyalty to Mileena, fighting through the MKX story mode until brutal defeat by D'Vorah.

As savage, otherworldly warriors they helped create the definitive vision of Outworld as a dark, dangerous, hostile realm! They are icons fondly remembered from the series' earliest peak. Which warrior is deadliest? Choose their destiny! FIGHT!

This is a hard one to choose! I always liked Kintaro but Baraka is a legend. It sucked the way he was killed off in MKX! If this wasnt about the whole 25 years that might hurt him but all time he is one of the icons.

Not much of a fan of either one, so I'm just gonna go by how Kintaro would destroy Baraka in a fight.

I can't believe I missed Mileena vs Sindel! Would have voted Sindel 100%. I think Mileena is overrated.

I love both Kintaro and Baraka. Baraka not being playable in MKX was a missed opportunity imo especially because his design was so damn good but I voted for Kintaro. I have a soft spot for sub-bosses. They're so iconic in my eyes because they were so legendarily hard when I was a kid. Kintaro's appearance in the MKX comic was pretty good too. I'd love for them to explore with more Tigrar Shokan in the future of the franchise

TOURNAMENT BATTLE - ROUND 1:
Stryker versus Sektor
#47 Supreme Ranking #38
1 win 5 losses Record 2 wins 5 losses
Round 2 (2012) Best Result Round 2 (2014)

Stryker may have cut an unassuming figure in MK3, but he was one of the chosen warriors fighting on the frontlines against Outworld invasion! The riot brigade leader brought modern warfare to kombat - blasting, beating and blowing his opponents away. A certain infamy followed Stryker in the arcades, leading to an absence of more than a decade! When he returned in Armageddon, Stryker gained new respect in hi-tech urban combat wear. When the timeline was rebooted, Stryker was once again on the streets when the monsters of Outworld came for conquest. He gave his life fighting the incursion, appearing in MKX cameos as a revenant still under Quan Chi's control!

Sektor brought a new dimension to kombat as a futuristic cyborg assassin programmed by the Lin Kuei. Unit LK-9T9 debuted in MK3 - a volunteer for the process, now on the hunt for renegade clansman Sub-Zero. In MK Gold, Sektor was again deployed against his comrades, joining Cyrax as an ally and monitor for his loyalties. The red clad mechanized warrior may've served the Lin Kuei well, but when he returned in Armageddon, we learned of his true aspirations for power! He founded the Tekunin clan of Japan, wreaking havoc against the Special Forces. When the timeline rebooted, we saw Sektor go from human to machine. A disembodied head in MKX; Sektor's fate was revealed in the comics, revealed as a short-lived master overthrown and destroyed by Cyrax and Sub-Zero.

They introduced a modern twist to klassic Mortal Kombat. Each strived for a form of order in the chaos, exemplifying the organizations they volunteered to serve with their lives. Whose arsenal wins their war? Choose their destiny! FIGHT!

Going with Stryker, of course. I mained the hell out of him in MK3. Too bad his redemption in MK9 all went for naught in the end.

Unmasked!Sektor was definitely eye candy, but it's not enough.

TOURNAMENT BATTLE - ROUND 1:
Kabal versus Sub-Zero
#28 Supreme Ranking #1
4 wins 5 losses Record 21 wins 4 losses
Round 3 (2012) Best Result Champion (2012)

When Kabal debuted in MK3, he put a second face to the notorious Black Dragon criminal organization - and what a face it was! Having barely survived Earthrealm's Invasion, he was horribly scarred and fitted with a mechanical respirator that kept him alive. After fighting for the side of light, Kabal was dragged back to his roots in Deception. This time left for dead by Mavado, Kabal was saved by Havik, and compelled to reclaim his stolen hookswords and lead a new Black Dragon clan. Kabal was forced to relive his near-death scarring when the timeline was rewritten, this time losing his life in the fight for vengeance and Earthrealm. In MKX, he remains a revenant puppet under Quan Chi's control.

Sub-Zero is the Lin Kuei cryomancer Kuai Liang - an identity named in the 2011 reboot, but first revealed in the bombshell arcade ending of his MKII debut! He was the succssor to an older brother who perished in the Shaolin Tournament! He picked up right where his brother leftoff, becoming an alturistic icon for the entire series! He ended his brother's feud with Scorpion, but was forced to flee his own clan when in MK3 they began a program to turn their warriors into programmable cyborgs! Sub-Zero fled a metallic fate, only to face his brother's legacy head-on when Quan Chi reignited Scorpion's rage with misdirection. In Deadly Alliance, Sub-Zero enhanced his powers with an ancient Dragon Medallion, achieving Grandmaster status to lead a new Lin Kuei. In Deception, he learned more about the secret history of ancient armored cryomancers from which he was descended. The past weighed heavily on Kuai Liang, as his greatest threat became the cyber-onis commanded by his brother Noob Saibot and former friend Smoke. When the timeline was rewritten, it would be Sub-Zero who joined the cold steel ranks of the cyber-assassins. Fortunately for him, death allowed a rebirth of untainted flesh - inadvertant gift bestowed by the Necromancer Quan Chi. Sub-Zero escaped his fate as a revenant in MKX, resuming a destiny to lead the Lin Kuei as Grandmaster. He next appears as upcoming guest fighter DLC in Injustice 2!

Over the course of twenty-five years, each of these warriors has faced death, been encased in cold steel, been turned against their clans, and attempted to lead new incarnations of them. Can Kabal scratch the ice of the icon that is Sub-Zero? Choose their destiny! FIGHT!

I voted Sektor in the previous round, he's one of my favourite MK characters period.

This round however is soooooooooo tough. I love Bi-Han as the original Sub-Zero and Kuai Liang is one of the truest protagonists in the series (and in my opinion should be the main protagonist overall).

That said, Kabal is siiiiiiiiiick, one of my favourite characters introduced in my favourite MK installment. His arc in the original timeline culminating in him collaborating with Havik and returning to the Black Dragon was awesome. His design and playstyle are super original and fun too. I voted for Kabal by the narrowest of margins.

Kintaro and Stryker got my votes in last few rounds.

This time I go for Sub Zero.
Always been a favourite of mine. One of the best stories in the series.
Kabal is just sort of there for me. Never a fan but don't particularly dislike him either.

TOURNAMENT BATTLE - ROUND 1:
Ermac versus Li Mei
#3 Supreme Ranking #51
19 wins 4 losses Record 1 win 5 losses
Champion (2014) Best Result Round 2 (2014)

Ermac began as a mere magazine hoax, but soon became red clad reality in UMK3! The enigmatic creature comprised of lost souls obliquely served Shao Kahn until his defeat. in Deadly Alliance, a new path was alluded to through the backstory of Kenshi - Ermac's savior and student. When Ermac returned in Deception, he was a fully realized identity, wielding the immense powers of the mind and soul. He aided the heroes of Earthrealm until the timeline was rewritten, returning him to his role as Emperor's Enforcer, and invader. In the reality of MKX, Ermac drifts into the service of Empress Mileena, before accepting Kotal Kahn as his new master.

Li Mei was one of a new generation of warriors debuting in Deadly Alliance. A simple denizen of Outworld, she was forced to enter a tournament to fight for the freedom of her people enslaved by Quan Chi and Shang Tsung. Her efforts were for naught as the pair attempted to transplant her soul into the corpse of one of The Dragon King's soldiers. Bo' Rai Cho rescued her, but she was forever altered by the experience -- until reality was rewritten! In the new timeline, Li Mei again pledged her efforts to defending her people, making a brief cameo in MKX as one of the Outworlders seeking asylum within the safety of Earthrealm.

Both were forced into the service of evil, but found release from bondage by the forces of light. They've sought a virutous path, but whose soul burns brightest? Choose their destiny! FIGHT!
