Think I'm going to be picking these up. These look pretty awesome. They look similar to the ones Udon did for Street Fighter some years ago. I'd be curious if they're just going to be normal cover or holographic covers?

The Injustice comics were an AMAZING success and the story is still going. I consider the comics to be better than the game, even. I love that they're doing comics for MKX as well, you should be grateful.

Cover reminds me about covers from the 90-s. Gladly it's not done in Leifield style. I wouldn't put much stock into what depicted on the cover as often they are just for "coolness effect" and nothing else.

I rode my bike to play the original MK in the arcade. Don't lecture me about being a 'True' fan or how I should be grateful. Why should I be grateful about comics? I could care less about comics. In this relationship, the dev team is the side that should be grateful we're spending money for their product. You can all GFYs.

And to the previous posts: we DID have a comic series based on the games and it sucked (not counting series writer Charles Marshall's huge boner for Kano during its run), so forgive those who are therefore slightly more jaded about this latest go-round.
The only comic book I've ever seriously collected was Top Cow's Tomb Raider (early 2000s), and even that went downhill midway through its run.

I'm pretty sure there will be paper copies. I wish I could link where I read it but I just don't remember. I want to say it was the thread that revealed the comics. I also remember reading that Injustice eventually released paperbacks, although I think it was months after digital release.

If you care less about the comics, then why complain about how the team "supposedly" stopped giving us information about the game just to make way for a comic series? If you don't care about something, why complain? So a voice can be heard over the rest that the team is supposed to hear?

And no, sir, I am not going to "fuck myself" even if you weren't aiming that towards me. I mean at least be happy we got "something" rather than nothing. I mean, would you rather have it be like Metal Gear Solid where you have to literally wait for months for something? You'll occasionally get a 15 minute gameplay trailer, and that be it. Or how about Blizzard where they give you floods of information and then when you get the game, they either say that they have to delay it for a couple more days, or get it and play it and see that it is virtually unplayable?

And I don't recall other companies feeding us a shitload of information like these guys do.

Man, a two month halt of information is really that fucking terrible it seems.

The fact that you had too much free time on your hands, to ride your bike, somewhere, just to play MK, do not make you more MK fan than any of us here. In fact, even if you said that you've collected every single piece of MK merch in history, it wouldn't make you bigger fan than any of us.
There is no special meter that tells you how much of "TruE fan" you are. All this self-elevation is just that: self-elevation trash, that is laughable for every sane person.

You should be grateful not for story revealed in the comics, but for the fact, that Warners had finally decided to take MK into new ventures. Which in turn, will allow for more people to learn about series and potentially bring MK-Team and WB more profits, so MK could live on.

And no amount of bicycle riding will have the same positive effect on the series.

Will the comic continue after the game like Injustice has? If it does how will that affect any possible upcoming game? I personally don't see another MK game coming out for a very long time. I think Netherrealm has done a great job with bringing the game back to respectable quality since WB has thrown money into it. But is WB going to want Netherrealm going in new directions? Also it seems like Boon and the team would welcome taking a long break from MK and going on to a new venture of gaming so I think it's a possibility. That may be why the game spans a 25 year period. It can be used as a small excuse as making any more MK games for a while.

I complain because it appears, to me, that a comic is being released in lieu of legit media about the game. Why are you comparing this to MGS or Blizzard? How about we compare it to to the marketing campaign for the last four Mortal Kombat games. Apples to apples works better dude. Sorry I don't share your opinion.

And please, who is going to go download the MK comic that isn't already an MK fan. No one, that's who. Stop pretending this is a way to expose more people to the series. It is, however, a corporate marketing ploy that you boners are gobbling up.

Why compare to when they were Midway and had a totally different way of marketing? Not to mention, Mortal Kombat 2011 got everything leaked, so what comparison do we need to look through with that game? That we need the entire game leaked before release, four months before it comes out? Yeah, I'd like to appreciate the game myself and NOT have the entire thing release before its supposed to.

I compared two different companies/games because unlike this game, other companies don't share squat most of the time with their fans before the game is released. You guys don't appreciate anything that's given to you because if it doesn't happen consistent despite they never were following any consistency in the first place, you'll whine and moan that they're not giving you what YOU want. I'm sorry, I didn't realize Netherrealm caters to demands so easily. No one can appreciate what's been given to them.

It's like fans of this series are too blind and too demanding 99.9% of the time to appreciate that this company doesn't need to release anything to us. I'd rather have them just stop releasing info altogether because fans are getting too fucking snippy because of a two month halt. I'm not expecting you to "share" my opinion because unlike you, I'm patient and content with what we've gotten so far. But this comic is in no way to replace anything. It was announced way back that we were getting a comic series but no one ever said anything that it is to be replaced of anything. Not to mention, they fucking said that we were going to get more information coming next month. Did anyone just so happened to skim passed that? I guess so, because everyone still is bored around here.

Yeah this argument is completely unnecessary because I can tell you'll just basically rub it off. But I just wanted to point out of selfishness amongst this series' fans that most have to deal with who are content and not impatient. Whats even funnier is that this is the only site I go on that has it where the users are constantly making threads complaining that the release of information is too slow, while everywhere else I go are like "meh, we'll get something eventually."

Would be cool if this was Kano (as he's the last Black Dragon member) cornered by 100 Red Dragon ruthless and skilled assassins, not just henchmen, and getting his ass kicked. In a final attempt to save his life, he becomes an animal and kills them all. He should though get his ass kicked by Daegon and maybe that's where Quan Chi will come in saving him.

Give it a month and you won't even care anymore. Characters will be revealed along with the releases of this, somehow less, legitimate form of media and happiness will reign over the kingdom again.
