Midway Pulse 2006: MK Armageddon Presentation, Plus Official Media!

One of the big highlights of the Midway Pulse Event was the presentation for Midway's highly anticipated upcoming fighting game, Mortal Kombat: Armageddon! Ed Boon kicked off the presentation with a movie showing the influence Mortal Kombat has had on popular culture, followed by the teaser trailer, finishing up with a look at MK: Armageddon's different aspects, including the changes to kombat and Konquest, create-a-fighter, and create-a-fatality!

Also, Midway made available several screenshots from MK Armageddon, in addition to the trailer previously seen on IGN.

    Midway Pulse 2006: MK Unchained Presentation, Plus Screenshots!

    At the Midway Pulse Event, Midway Games CEO David Zucker gave a presentation about two of the upcoming games coming to the Sony PSP. One of these two games is, of course, the handheld version of Mortal Kombat: Deception, Mortal Kombat: Unchained!

    In addition, Midway released several official screenshots from MK: Unchained, most of which have been seen previously at other outlets.

    Midway Pulse 2006: Ultimate MK3 Coming to X-Box Live Arcade!

    During the Midway Pulse Event, Midway Games CEO David Zucker gave a presentation concerning X-Box Live Arcade. In the presentation, Zucker revealed that a number of classic Midway arcade games would be coming soon to X-Box Live Arcade, including Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3! We managed to get a tape of the brief presentation, which we are presenting to you all here.

    Mortal Kombat Online Attends Midway Pulse 2006!

    Mortal Kombat Online was on the road again! Last night, Midway Games held their Midway Pulse 2006 event for the media, in which they gave out presentations and had playable versions of games for the media to try. Mortal Kombat wasn't playable at the event, but there WERE presentations from the event involving Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, Mortal Kombat Unchained, and even Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3! Our intrepid reporters D'Arque Bishop and CCShadow got the footage, and we'll be reporting on what we saw over the next few days!

    Midway Officially Announces MK: Armageddon and MK: Unchained!

    Midway Games has sent out a press release in which they finally officially announce the next two Mortal Kombat games: Mortal Kombat: Unchained for the Sony PSP handheld system, and more importantly, Mortal Kombat: Armageddon for console systems. True to its name, Midway is hyping up the fact that MK: Armageddon will be the final chapter in the current MK storyline. From the press release:

    CHICAGO – February 28, 2006 – Midway Games Inc. (NYSE: MWY), a leading interactive entertainment industry publisher and developer, announced today that Mortal Kombat®: Armageddon™, the final franchise installment on current generation systems featuring the most extensive cast of playable characters in the series to–date and an all–new create–a–fighter mode, is currently in development for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft. Mortal Kombat: Armageddon is expected to ship Fall 2006.
