Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance Printable Guides
The official street date for Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance is tomorrow, however most people are happily kicking ass in the comfort of their living rooms nationwide. We still have a little work left before we release our official MK5.org Guide to Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. It is truly amazing and you will not be disappointed when you see it! As for the time being, we've gone ahead and posted our Printable Moves List and Printable Krypt List! Besides having every character's moves in the moves guide , our Krypt List reveals what is inside all 676 Koffins! You can find all of this at the link below:

On a side note, the entire MK5.org staff received their copies today. Eventually, after we get some more playing time in, we will be posting our reviews!

Bad News for X-Box Owners
We have just received a report that the X-Box version of MKDA occasionally locks up when Frost performs (ironically enough) her Ground Freeze move.  We haven't received confirmation of this tip from any of our other users yet, but thanks go to M. Della Porta for bringing this to our attention.

Additionally, upon inspecting the final version of the box art for the GameCube and Game Boy Advance versions, it seems that the 2 versions will NOT interact with each other after all.  Apparently it had been planned at one point, since it was on the promotional box art in many stores, but it's been scrapped for reasons unknown.

(Editor's Note Updated 25 Nov. 3:25 PM CST - Well, no word from Midway yet, but we think we may have hit upon the cause of the lockups. Testing by both CCShadow and Nosaj-Samoht seems to indicate that the problem only occurs if you do Frost's ground freeze at the same time your opponent performs a special move of his/her own. This doesn't seem to be an issue with older hardware; CCShadow's X-Box is brand new. Again, we'll keep you posted as we learn more. -- D'Arque Bishop)

Dan Forden Interview, Part II
MK5.ORG forum moderator _JRF_ has just finished the second round of his interview with Dan "Toasty" Forden, who is responsible for the music for most (if not all) of the Mortal Kombat games, including Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance! In this interview, _JRF_ asks about Forden's past and influences. From the interview:
JRF: Where do you draw influence when creating such a large amount of music (at least 20 original tracks, plus sound effects)?

Dan Forden: Lots of places - usually what's in my head plus from things I hear all over the place - to me it doesn't sound like any of the things I like to listen to but probably has hooks in there somewhere ...

Our thanks to _JRF_ for providing us with this interview!
Good News for GameCube owners
Today, I have acquired all 3 of the display boxes for Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance.  I couldn't help but notice something interesting on the GameCube box: MKDA will be GameBoy Advance compatible.  Although the GBA version is still a little way off, this may give people who own more than one console a reason to choose the GameCube version over the others.

Update (21 Nov 2002): It does appear this news posting was premature. After actually having acquired the GameCube version of the game, there is no mention of a GBA link anywhere on the box. We apologize for the error in our news posting.
