Midway.com has released a TV commercial for Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. It is a mixture of the previously released cinematic spot and shots from the actual gameplay. The release date "Fatality Friday" is not included, so unless we see otherwise, this commercial will not appear on television until November 22nd. PS2 IGN has released an article detailing some of the changes and features that will be available in the final version of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance! The two-page article covers a wide range of topics, from the number of fighting styles and attacks available to each character, to the secrets and extras included in the game! For example, the Konquest mode is described in detail, giving us a look into the up-until-now mysterious mode. From the article:

There are 218 missions in all, and as you move throughout the landscape the challenges become increasingly difficult and worth more Kurrency than is available elsewhere. To add a little flare to the progression of things, the developers have also included a storyline to go along with the action. So while you may be playing through as Shang Tsung for instance, you'll go throughout his entire adventure step by step. From the moment he allies with Quan Chi to the time he? well, we'll keep that a secret for now. Needless to say, it's all played out right there in front of the player and adds a lot of depth to a normally dullard feature.

The article also goes into detail about the mysterious koffins one can open using hard-won kurrency, and the types of kurrency that can be won and spent. In addition, some of the other menu features first seen in the game menu shown at E3 were described.

The types of goodies at your disposal are enormous, and can be accessed from another menu option known as "Kontent". Once you've reached that menu the bonuses you've uncovered are separated into distinct categories for easy navigation. Backgrounds, biographies, and other personality specific items are contained under the "Character" icon in the menu selection screen, and it's in your best interest to focus on this area of the Krypt first. A great section to visit when looking for more information on your favorite fighters, you can confirm the combatants and costumes you've found along the way or even check out hidden backgrounds in the "Arena" selection.

Gamespot has updated with twelve new images from Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, including two great shots of the select screen. Most of the in-game shots, save one, feature Sub-Zero fighting against a variety of opponents. The select screen images show all twenty-one characters' icons, plus select screen portraits for Sub-Zero, Bo Rai Cho, Kenshi, and the previously-unseen portrait of Hsu Hao (formerly Khan), complete with hat.
