Pocket IGN has updated with their hands-on preview of the final version of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance for the Game Boy Advance! Their preview was mostly positive, often to their own surprise. From the article:

Midway's Mortal Kombat series hasn't exactly had a flawless track record on handheld systems. One might even say there hasn't been a decent version of that series on any handheld system. The last time the game made its way to the portable market was Midway's Mortal Kombat Advance, an absolutely horrible recreation of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 on the Game Boy Advance. After that debacle, some fans of the series may never trust another version of Mortal Kombat on the GBA. That, friends, would be a mistake: Midway today sent over the final build of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance for the Game Boy Advance, and after putting a good couple of hours into the bloody bout, I'm comfortable in saying that Midway put the right team on this project.

IGN has come through again with a new video available only to IGN Insider members from Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. Unlike the previous videos, however, this one contains the opening cinematic from the game, where Quan Chi and Shang Tsung turn against Shao Kahn, and shows the events leading to their murder of the Earth champion, Liu Kang. Planet GameCube, as part of their coverage of Nintendo's Cube Club Tour, has managed to snag the clearest shot so far of the select screen from Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance! This image shows a select screen with two players ready to battle it out, with portraits of Johnny Cage and Bo Rai Cho! There are twenty one characters, with seven rows of three, but the bottom nine characters are greyed out, possibly not playable on the Cube Club Tour version.
