IGN Insider releases new MK: Deadly Alliance media
To begin the month IGN Insider members have been treated with a wide assortment of new media from Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance! Though mostly comprised of artwork from arenas we have already seen there are some new ones to note including Shaol of Quan Chi. Also be sure to check out new renders and screenshots of your favorite characters including a new combatant named Khan.

However, more importantly IGN Pocket has come up with the first screens of the Gameboy Advance version! From what we have seen the game's resolution seems low and characters do not show much detail, but everything still looks fairly good for being on a handheld system. The gameplay even appears to be 3D.

Again, for copyright reasons, we are not reposting the images, and only IGN Insider users can see more than five pictures from their site a day. If we can find a place where these screenshots are available for free we will let you know.

MK: DA Advertising Campaign Delves Deeper
Anyone who looks at the September 2002 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly (Issue 158) will be treated to a 2-page advertisement for MK: Deadly Alliance.  Nothing really new is given to us in the ad, except for the really cool renders which feature Scorpion fighting Quan Chi.  We won't tell you who wins, though - check out the ad for yourself.  Visit your newstand and have a look!
MK Supplement in September PSM
As several readers have pointed out, the September issue of PSM Magazine has an 8-page tear-out "Mortal Kombat Supplement".  It makes for a very interesting read - it not only goes over all the Mortal Kombat games, but mentions the movies, tv shows, CD's, and comics as well.  Their MK: Deadly Alliance section finally sheds some light on "Test Your Sight" - it is described as involving "keeping your eye on a shuffling object".  Also, according to PSM, players will be allowed to place bets on which fighter will win and earn "kurrency".  The kurrency or token system will allow to you unlock hidden characters, backgrounds, and extra features.  One last thing the article tells us is the fact that there will be special moves specific to a certain fighting style.  Hopefully, certain trademark moves will be universal to all the different fighting styles.  Time will tell on this one.

Besides the supplement, there's a comic strip in the magazine which pokes fun at the many ninjas in MK Trilogy.  They also mention that Deadly Alliance is due "this month" (meaning September) which we all know by now not to be true - the last we heard, Midway expected it to be on the shelves November 18.

Back to the mag - we recommend all serious Mortal Kombat fans pick this up!  Not just for the MK: DA info, but for the rest of the supplement as well.

Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance Print Ads Now in Circulation
If you pick up the August 2002 issue of Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine you can find the first print ad for MK: Deadly Alliance.  The ad does confirm a Fall 2002 release, not winter as being reported by some websites.  Although no real new information about or screenshots of the game are given in the ad, it does mention that we can look forward to "brutal new Fatalities". You can expect to see more print ads in the coming months as the game comes to completion.
