Yet Another Screenshot Released on Noob.com!
This weekend, series co-creator Ed Boon's personal website, Noob.com, has uploaded another screenshot from Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe's story mode. This time the action is set in Gotham City, but still features an MK alumni, in the form of Sub-Zero.

In this image, Sub-Zero seems to be searching for fellow kombatant Scorpion in Batman's home city. He seems to have "found" him, given that is the image's jpg name on the site, by sensing the nether left in his wake.

Another New Screenshot Released on Noob.com!

Another weekend, and another Noob.com update has come! Ed Boon's official website continued the trend and a new image from Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe's story mode was added into the mix of what is already on the site. The new image features MK characters yet again, one of which has been unseen in the game up until now:

The sorcerer Quan Chi appears to Scorpion and Sub-Zero in Hell, uttering about the coming of his "enforcer" with which either Scorpion, Sub-Zero or both of them have a violent past with. This could be any number of characters obviously, but one Noob Saibot comes to mind foremost. Quan Chi himself is dressed in his Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance attire, amulet included. He is likely one of the many characters alluded to being in the story mode, yet unplayable in the arcade portion of the game.

Keep your eyes open for more additions to Ed Boon's site, and thanks to forum member for the lead on this story!

New Screenshot Released On Noob.com

A new screenshot most likely from story mode as been released on Noob.com from the upcoming Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. It depicts a defeated Kano moments away from death at the hands of Shang Tsung with Sonya attempting to stop the in-fighting and unite them against a greater threat. Many of the cast from the MK roster are viewable in the screenshot. Baraka's blades can be seen from behind Shang Tsung but little else can be seen of him.

Kano Render Released!

A brand new render has just been released on both Scorpion and Sub Zero's Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe MySpace page. Special Forces arch nemesis Kano stands ready for a fight against a backdrop that looks to be the hanger of a military base. Kano is clad in a new spin on his iconic look.

We are now left only to see the final four confirmed characters: Lex Luthor, Baraka, Darkseid, and Shao Kahn. As soon as their renders are made available we will report it here. Once the high-resolution version of Kano's render is released, this story will be updated to include it.

EDIT - 4:30 PM CDT by DArqueBishop - The high-resolution render has been released on the official website, and the versions with white and black backgrounds have been released on the official Facebook page. Our thanks to forum/chat member for letting us know about these renders!

Midway Releases Deathstroke Render from Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe!

The folks over at Midway have released another render from the upcoming Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe! This time, the render is of one-eyed master assassin/mercenary Deathstroke! While Deathstroke is a long-time DC Universe supervillain, he has been relatively obscure to non-comics fans until recently, when he appeared as the main villain in the Teen Titans cartoon series. However, in the animated series, he went by his character's first name of Slade. Only the high-resolution version is currently known to be available.

With the release of this render, only four characters remain to be unveiled: Lex Luthor, Baraka, Darkseid, and Shao Kahn. As soon as those renders are released, we'll be sure to report it here!

Our thanks to forum/chat member samus_aran3900 for the heads-up about this new render!

EDIT - 12 September 4:35 PM CDT - The official Facebook page has been updated with the low quality image of the render, and also the versions with the white and black backgrounds. Our thanks again to samus_aran3900 for letting us know about these renders!

XBox 360 Achievements Announced - Complete Roster Revealed!

Xbox360achievements.org has revealed the Achievements one can accomplish in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, and as a result have also revealed as of yet unannounced characters by Midway! Achievements, as XBox 360 owners know, are a way to improve your Gamer Score on XBox Live. Games have a list of Achievements varying in difficulty and each such Achievement you complete will reward you with a set number of points. In MKvsDCU, many Achievements deal directly with mastering particular characters on the game's roster. Embedded in this list of characters, presumably a list of all the playable characters in the game, are the final four characters that had yet to be revealed. From the Mortal Kombat side of things, the nomadic Tarkatan Baraka and the emperor of Outworld himself Shao Kahn join the cast. From DC, Superman's arch nemesis Lex Luthor and cosmic force Darkseid step into the light.

Among the list of Achievements rests one that awards 100 points, tied for the largest in the game. "Special Moves Pro" Achievement states, "Do all special moves including jf’s". It is currently unknown what "jf" stands for, but it likely is not a character.

We have contacted Midway in attempt to confirm or deny this story, so any confusion may be put to rest.

EDIT: We have received official confirmation from Midway that this story is legitimate. An update will be forthcoming.

Senior game designer John Edwards and MK co-creator John Tobias also join in on the fun and reveal information about character stances and game play as well as new information on the comic book and arenas.

Notable snippets in the MKast is the return to MK2 glory for Kitana and the hint at multiple fatalities per character. Rage Mode is also discussed in depth and is said to be more balanced than previously thought. To listen to the newest MKast click here.

As always our thanks to the MK team for taking the time to make the MKasts and thanks to forum member for the lead on this story. We will keep you updated as more news is released.

Noob.com Updates With Two More Cinematic Screenshots!

Ed Boon's official website Noob.com has updated with two more images from the upcoming Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe! These two images join the image previously posted of Liu Kang and Scorpion, and are presumably from the game's cinematics. The first image, with a filename of "adversary.jpg", shows Sonya, Jax, and Liu Kang facing Raiden, as the thunder god points off to something off-screen. The second image, called "betrayal.jpg", shows Sub-Zero climbing a stone wall to reach a battle arena. It's not known at present what the filenames mean in relation to the story; "adversary" could mean the characters are about to face an enemy as indicated by Raiden, but the use of "betrayal" for the Sub-Zero picture is a mystery.

Our thanks to forum member for letting us know about these two new images!

Midway Releases Two Screenshots from MKvDCU With Scorpions Fatality!

The folks over at Midway have released two new screenshots from the upcoming Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe! This time, the two screenshots share a common theme; in them, Scorpion is performing his signature Toasty fatality on Sub-Zero! While set up and executed the same as in previous Mortal Kombats, this fatality is most like the Mortal Kombat 4 version of the fatality, where the victim's body says intact aside from the fact that it is covered in flames.

Our thanks to Midway for releasing these new screenshots!
