As previously announced, Kratos from God of War will make his first appearance in promotional Mortal Kombat media in the January 2011 issue of Playstation magazine (issue 041) along with the recently confirmed Ermac. Kratos graces the front of this issue along with Scorpion, a continuation of their confrontation in the recent trailer.

After months of rumors and this last week's revelations, Kratos from God of War fame has finally been officially confirmed to appear in the first quarter 2011 game! As previously announced, a new playable character would be revealed on Spike TV's annual VGA show.

In 2011, Mortal Kombat will return in all it's gory glory, bringing with it the deadly finishing moves that were controversially scaled back for their 2008 crossover, Versus DC Universe.

In preparation for the elaborate bloodletting and general dismemberment, IGN has picked up the gauntlet to list their Unofficial Top Ten Best Fatalities! Featured in the list are favourites like Scorpion's Toasty Flame Breath, along with some more obscure fare you might not expect.

UK magazine PocketGamer has released word that Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 will be released for Java-enabled mobile phones. it's apparent that a scoring system – not used since the original Mortal Kombat I – will be making its return. Check out the screenshots: The developer is listed as Electronic Arts Mobile and not Warner Bros. The article mentions that the release date is (approximately) December 1, 2010 and that they will be posting their review of the game shortly. No word as of yet whether this confirms a release in North America, or whether this port will include Puzzle Kombat (as the Nintendo DS port did) or any other extras. Premiere Russian gaming magazine, IgroMania, has revealed an alternate cover for their latest issue, and in doing so, confirmed another favourite for Mortal Kombat in 2011!

Netherrealm Studios has released a new HD gameplay trailer featuring a montage showcase of fan-favorite fighter, Scorpion! The video shows off a wide array of the ninja spectre's trademark moves, weaved effortlessly into combo attacks by Mortal Kombat's new fighting engine. Amongst the bone breaking blows dealt are transitions into Tag Team attacks, X-Ray specials, and the first glimpse of Scorpion's Hellfire Backflip Kick, introduced originally in Deadly Alliance.

Netherrealm Studios has released a video bio featuring the iconic Scorpion as he appears in the upcoming Mortal Kombat. The ninja spectre's canon storyline seems to remain the same, though new information in the way of Quan Chi being the individual responsible for bringing the hellspawn back to the world of the living has been added. Scorpion's history with Sub-Zero is well known, and assuming things remain unchanged, he has been deceived by Quan Chi into believing a lie.

The MKCommunity manager has just uploaded a video asking "What would you do with Scorpion's Spear?" in a Pop Quiz style.

The official website for Mortal Kombat has just been revealed!

After being prompted to choose your character from the selection - Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Mileena, Shao Kahn and Raiden, You are taken to their individual pages which showcase a Render and a small Biography of your chosen warrior! Whilst nothing entirely new is present yet. You can see what appears to be Scorpion's Lair from MK3 as Scorpions background image along with The Bell Tower art and a 6th characters silhouette who has yet to be unlocked.
