Today, the action will kick into a higher gear as Machinima presents a dual Mortal Kombat Kosplay Kontest and Play the Pro Challenge special event!

Mortal Kombat X PS3 & 360 Ports Delayed Until Summer

High Voltage developed Mortal Kombat X ports for PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360 will officially be delayed until the Summer of 2015. A Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment representative confirmed the Summer delay to VideoGamer.com amidst extensive speculation.

"Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today confirmed that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Mortal Kombat X being developed by High Voltage Software will release this summer," Warner Bros said in a statement provided to VideoGamer.com. "The Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC versions will be available April 14."

MK: Legacy Series to become available via iTunes, Xbox Live and PSN!

Released over the duration of eight weeks on Machinima, the Mortal Kombat: Legacy digital series is set for distribution via various outlets including iTunes, Xbox Live and Playstation Network next month according to ComingSoon.net. Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe now available on Xbox Live!

Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe has just been added to Xbox Live's Games On Demand service which allows you to download games directly to your Xbox 360 HDD.

Microsoft to Discontinue Support for Original Xbox Live
Microsoft has announced that it will be dropping online play for their original Xbox systems effective April 15, 2010. This means no more Xbox Live for the following Mortal Kombat games:
  • Mortal Kombat: Deception
  • Mortal Kombat: Armageddon
  • Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict (featuring Raiden)

Additionally, Microsoft has announced that original Xbox games that have been formatted to work on the Xbox 360 will also lose the ability to be played online.

All Midway Titles Removed from Xbox Marketplace, Including UMK3

According to a report seen on Kotaku, all of Midway's titles on Xbox LIVE Marketplace have been removed. This also includes the sole MK title on Arcade: Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. According to the article, the titles are still available on the console if the titles were already purchased, and could possibly still be downloaded if deleted. However, it is not possible to purchase them at this time. The cause of the removal is not known at this time, but it's very possible it's due to rights transfers between Midway and Warner Bros. Games.

WWE Announces MKSM Ultimate Adventure Sweepstakes!

The WWE has announced a new sweepstakes based upon Midway's upcoming action/adventure game, Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks! The Grand Prize winner will win a new X-Box video game system, a copy of MK: Shaolin Monks signed by a WWE superstar, and four tickets in the Grand Prize winners area at an unspecified WWE event!
