I just got Midway Treasures 2 and boy o boy that CPU is got some Jean Grey! lol
It doesnt matter what I try to do, they have got the perfect counter lol
teleport? they answer with a sweep
high projectile? they have a low one
jump kick? punch/kick/grba me outta the air
and how can I forget the rapid high punches to the face! lol
this brings back way too many memories!
:)
I should hack the CPU and ask it to get me the lottery numbers!

Heh heh heh, oh yes, those were the day. Half the fun is finally beating the cheating CPU. Forget the lotto numbers, I want the winner of the world series.

Here's a hint. Player one side duck and when they get close jump back and for them to jump to and high kick or uppercut.(you can also jump kick and trip)Player two sside just jump in block low and they will always throw a projectile and just uppercut.... Good luck. Tip player one for the pattern to work don't use any of the girls or liu kang.

This is true, I've beaten the game on one quarter doing just that! Just remember to use the Player 1 side like he said. And I think Raiden is on that excluded list as well. Here's a hint. LOLOL. Yes, agreed. But I still love my MK2.
Since we are on the subject, if the comp blocks a jump kick, what to you do next?
- Block and pray that he/she doesn't sweep or throw you?
- Roundhouse and pray that they won't sweep or uppercut?
- Sweep and pray that they don't throw?
- Jump back and pray their vertical kick/ air projectile/ regular projectile doesn't hit?
- Just pray?
The clairvoyancy of the comp is caused by it reacting exactly when you press a button. For example: press block, and Scorpion will immediately come to throw you. Press back, and he will immediately throw a spear.

The answer:
Kara jab.
When you land, hit LP, and then instantly cancel it with block+down, since you will be out of throw range and then whatever attack they do will be blocked. Then do another kara jab to gain more distance, you will see that the computer will repeat the same move, usually a sweep over and over and you will gain enough distance to reposition yourself after a couple.

Damn, I am tired to say it again but there is only 1 true tactic to beat the CPU in MK2 that actually work, and thats the jump backward pattern.
It works best on very hard, and its 100% working at least on my Arcade 3.1 machine.
First, it doesnt work with: Kung Lao, Raiden, Kitana, Millena and Liu Kang.
Second, it dont work if your the right player.
Third, it sometimes doesnt work against the first Fighter.
Duck and wait until the CPU is walking forward to you, then at the last moment, Jump Backward without doing any move, just jump backward.
The CPU will stand for a second and jump after you without doing anything.
Thats your free hit, give him an Uppercut, Roundhousekick, standing high Kick, or make some juggle combos like Jumpkick with Jax and than Backbreaker or Standing punch than spear and Uppercut with Scorpion ect.
If you do it right, this pattern works everytime and you can do it against all the 12 Standart Fighter.
It works even against Noob and Jade, but its harder because of there speed.
I have probably beaten the game without the use of continues around 50 times with that tactic on very hard.
Against Kintaro I just can say there is no easy tactic that works everytime, but use footsweepers a lot at the maximum distance, if you do it right he doesnt block it.
After you hit a footsweeper on him always duck, because he will spit sometimes a fireball after that.
When he make his teleport Jump, simply make a quick backward jumpkick and it will counter his move everytime.
When he taunt, give him the most damaging attack you have.
If you getting hit by his Teleport anyway, he always makes a taun after he hit you, so get your free hit here.
When he simply walks forward to you, make footswepper and jump over him if he push,s you into a corner.
Against Shao Kahn there are many Fighter specific tactics, like:
Kunglao: Make his Spinnig Special Move, Kahn always rush,s into it.
Baraka: Make his Slice Special Move when he is getting near you.
Liu Kang: Keep a distance to him and spam him with low fireballs, if he is getting near to you, jump over him and get some distance again.
A tactic that works witheveryone, but not everytime:
Go into a corner and hold down block, he makes his charge attack, you block it and uppercut him.
Repeat that until he is dead, you loose much energy too, but at the end he goes down first.
There are much more but I am tired to write them all down.
