Cuz going through those first 6 missions with every character is going to be sooooo monotanous. I mean "hit square" wow that was so fun and exiting I just learned how to punch oh wow

Some would say no, some would say yes. I think it is worth it, although Konquest can be boring and annoying at times (actualy most of the time.)
BUT I wanted to unlock everything in the game, and having two more characters to choose from can only be a good thing.
Plus I really like Blaze, I think if he hadn't been a last minute addition he would've been a great character. Just add his own attacks, a weapon, fighting styles and a fatality and he would've been crazy! Still, he is a very good fighter, as is Mokap. Blaze's ending is cool too, so I think they are definitely worth completing konquest for...

Well, I actually like Conquest, you find out alot about characters, and only because I restarted =my file data do I have to do it again, frankly, I don't find it that hard.

Raiden's was a bit of a pain, I can't really remember how, but it was. Just work on your timing and... Keymanship?

I would say so, but it's more a matter of whether or not you want to obtain everything in the game. Blaze and Mokap are fairly fun characters who each have a nice mix of fighting styles.
About combos, the best advice I can give is to tap the buttons in an even rhythm throughout the whole string. It's not about ungodly speed or pinpoint accuracy so don't panic and rush the inputs or worry unduly about timing. Also, remember that the last command of any combo in the game can be mashed; a dirty little trick that especially comes in handy when performing Shang Tsung's and, yes, Raiden's extended strings.
Good luck.
