This may sound crazy, but did Midway think about the reaction to some people when MK3 came out?
Confused on what I'm saying? During the release of MK3 in arcades, there was the Rodney King incident. Was it a smart move for Stryker, a white cop with a nightstick, one of the weapons used against Rodney King, to appear at that time. I know this'll be closed, but I'd like your opinions?
What do you think?

Why should that matter? Whether people hate or like Stryker is based on their opinions on him as a character, not some real life incident involving police brutality. We've had cases, both true and false of police brutality for years before Rodney King, and will continue to do so. This has had no negative effects on cop characters in games, movies etc, such as Dirty Harry or Lethal Weapon's Riggs.
Most cops around the world carry a nightstick or similar weapon, do you think the many Stryker haters across the world were suddenly thinking "I hate this guy because cops beat another black guy up". I very much doubt it, even in the US, where this particular incident happened.
And although I am one of few people who really like Stryker, he doesn't actually look that much like a cop. How many cops wear blue and white shirts that look like unwanted Christmas presents from their grannies?

True, but the Rodney King incident was one of the most biggest incidents in the world, a bigger impact in the US, and MK3 was just released before. Therefore, that had another impact. Also, I do agree, why would he wear something that looks like unwanted presents, especially a knitted sweater?
