UMK3. The combos is what got me addicted. I have gotten so good at that game. After that it's MK:DA, with the new gameplay and other stuff.

MK2 best graphics best sound best fatalitys best costumes best of everything.

MK2,deadly alliance was great but it didn't have that mk feeling.

MK: DA overall is my fav MK game so far

2-D wise MK3 is my fav

My sentiments exactly. I found MK2 to be the best of the lot (hope MKD will top it though) because of the feel. If I were to rank them I would go:

mk2, it was the most fun, most balanced, and darkest feel of all the mk's

MKT for PSX or UMK3 for arcade. Fastest, most entertaining, tightest gameplay.

I played MK3 and UMK3 and wanted to ask, how can MK3 be better? UMK3 had more things in it which i think made it better

MK2 WAS AND STILL THE BEST MK EVER (I THINK) Because:
-It had the finest roster combination of players (i meen : baraka,liu,kung,kitana,jax and all...)
-the backgrounds looks so damn good i mean the graphics and the temples, old trees,acid pools, and rivers that gives the feel of chinese and all.
-The bosses and secrets are best, alot of secret charecters like smoke jade and noob.
-the music is A-W-O-S-O-M-E! the music gives that feeling that everytime u open the game and you hear that music u feel like "let the mortal kombat begin!" .
-And the storys and menus looks great

and that's all and i hope that you feel the same way....

I forgot to say that mkII had the best graphics (i think) of all mks

I always found the two to be so different that I could understand if someone prefered MK3. They really are like different games because the gameplay tweaks changed it around so much.

MK:DA is the best because it abandons the 'use only a flying kick, uppercut, and sweep' strategy that you had to live on for all of the others. You can now use intricate, realistic combos, not to mention the graphics. The only part I didn't like about it was the one fatality per person. Taking a close second would be MKII because it's just great.

MKT it had all the MK characters from the past.

Wow you must have had some depraved UMK3T gameplay to think thats how it was played. Try fidning some good players, you might enjoy the gameplay, since it is actually pretty deep.
